It was a basic room, but good value for money. The main bonus…….good air conditioning. It was a particularly hot few days whilst I stayed and not having to have the windows open letting in all the noise from outside was great. If the weather is hot and you are on a budget stay here

Nice hotel, nice place to be, nice surroundings, lovely receptionist. It was the first time in a Premier Inn and for sure we'll come back and suggest it to friends. We discovered Southwark and it was a good choice! Breakfast at The Anchor was superlative!

First the positives. The staff on reception were first class, always upbeat and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay a pleasant one. The position is another plus. Right next to the Thames and Borough Market. The room was as you expect but unlike the previous reviewers I found the bed and particularly the pillows, very comfortable....

We stayed here for two nights in April. It is attached to the Anchor pub. The room was a good size, and reasonably quiet. The bed however, was not as comfortable as other Premier Inns I have stayed at. The breakfast wasn't so good either. Adequate, but everything was quite dry tasting. The floors above us were very squeaky, and...

Great location. Borough Market right outside the door (yet still quiet) and London Bridge tube station about 5 minutes walk away. Great pub next door (which is also where breakfast is served). Would definitely stay there again.

One night stay at this hotel whilst working at the Shard. First time I have stayed here and is probably one of the best Premier Inns I have stayed at. Location was excellent for work, food and travel and the Cutty Sark right on the door step. I took breakfast in the morning and this was very good indeed with...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
