Oh dear, what a place! Why so bad? If I do pro's & con's to help you decide? Pro's. * Very central to where we were visiting...Royal Albert Hall. Also near a few museums. * Two minute walk from South Kensington tube station. * We slept well, with no noise from other rooms. Con's * Maybe the worst mis-match hotel...

No lift, had to climb 4flights of stairs with no help with luggage. Bed linen did not fit bed. Shower room inadequate, no cold water, tiles cracked with mould, no plug for sink and dripping tap. Breakfast boiled egg, cold toast, orange juice and coffee delivered to room but only one chair for two people to sit to eat. Extractor...

Good location but everything else about this hotel is awful. We were greeted by a very rude man on reception. Our room was terrible, tea stains on the walls and cracked paint and plaster on another. Very dusty. No hot water so we couldn't shower or wash. I'd rather have slept in a doorway.

Terribly, rude and ignorant reception staff taking double payment from our credit card despite being prepaid by our sponsor. The hotel would not let us check in without someone emailing a photocopy of a credit card in a non PCI compliant manner. No mention that any of this was need when it was booked.

Well after staying at numerous hotels in London I stayed at this hotel and to be honest I've stayed here many times due to its location and easy parking The draw backs are a flight of stairs to get to reception and the outdated decoration Apart from that it suits me fine You get s shower room, a fridge, tv...

To be honest, the bad reviews were not an exaggeration. There were a few good reviews (I don't know how & why maybe it's a different hotel) so I thought I'd give it a chance, but was so disappointed as the staff were unwelcoming & rude; no secure room to keep luggage, our bags were put in a landing by...

Nothing like the pictures. Was very disappointed overall. Continental breakfast. NOT!!!!!! Boiled egg, juice and coffee. The only good thing about this hotel was the places to eat around the corner. Never again

We booked a family room, which was adequate and clean. The bathroom was clean, but tiny and the tiles on the floor were all broken, so we had to cover them with a towel so as not to cut our feet! When I complained, the guy on reception said he would put duct tape on them, but he never did....

The hotel was basic and out dated but it was clean and had everything we needed for a night away. We booked a twin but they allocated a double. This was quickly resolved. We were on the 5th floor, it was quiet. It's a stretch to call breakfast a continental - 1 hard boiled egg, 2 toast, orange juice and...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
