The London House Hotel garners appreciation for its prime location, nestled close to tube stations and surrounded by shops and restaurants, which guests find highly convenient. Travelers commend the hotel's cleanliness and the service, regularly mentioning the friendly and efficient staff.

Every year when I plan my London trip, there’s one part I don’t need to think about, and that’s my accommodation - I only stay at London House Hotel. It has become my second home. It has the friendliest staff, and the most accommodating management who goes out of their way to make your stay exceptional. The rooms are beautifully appointed with everything you need - refrigerator, closet, tea coffee, tv, clean and fresh linen, and the most amazing views over the park. Centrally located with access to tube stations, bus stops, grocery shops, cafés, parks. I can’t recommend the hotel enough. Frankly it should have a review score of 10. Thankyou everyone at LHH. See you next year!

This is a boutique hotel, located in a beautiful area. Our room was very small, only had a double bed, two shelves on either side of bed, small shelf with mirror and a closet. There was no place to sit in the room other than on the bed. The bathroom was also very small, tiny sink, no shelf space for toiletries. We never saw the breakfast that was an option, as it was located in the basement. However, the hotel was very clean and well kept. There were two tube stops nearby, Bayswater and Queensway, which made the location very convenient. The Main Street nearby had a supermarket and lots of restaurants. It’s also walking distance to Hyde Park and Nottingham Hill. Over all, nice place to stay for a single or couple.

I stayed at The London House Hotel for 3 nights in mid September. The total cost in CA$ was $1,220 - or more than $400/night. It was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The website grossly misrepresented the rooms on offer. Rather, the room I was given was a long hallway - 8 feet wide at best - with 2 beds lined up one after the other along the wall. There was no chair, no bureau - in fact there was no room for anything but the beds. The bathroom was so small it was impossible to turn around in with the door closed. The beds were hard and uncomfortable. On top of that, there was very loud construction (concrete, drilling, etc.) directly below the window from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.
When I complained at the desk I was told the construction was out of their control and they had no other rooms to offer. When I asked if I could cancel the 2 other nights to look elsewhere, they refused. They did call some time later with an offer of another, bigger room, on the “lower ground” - i.e., the basement - but with a surcharge of $50 more per night. No thank you.
Apparently they called some time later to tell me they would waive the additional cost for the room, but I had gone out and when I returned the room was no longer available. The right approach when someone has valid complaints about a room is to offer a reduced rate, or a complimentary breakfast - not to offer a room at an additional cost.
The only two positive things I will say about this hotel is that its location is good - easy access to 2 different tube stops and walking distance to Notting Hill - and the desk staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful. Otherwise, it was truly dreadful.

Responded 4 Oct 2024
Dear Dominique, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your stay with us in September. We are genuinely sorry to hear about the disappointment you experienced during your visit. It is clear that your stay did not meet your expectations, and we apologise for the inconveniences you encountered, particularly regarding the room size, layout, and the disruption caused by nearby construction. We understand how frustrating it must have been, especially when the noise impacted your comfort, and we regret that the available solutions at the time did not fully address your concerns. We always aim to provide a variety of room categories to suit our guests' needs, and it’s disappointing to learn that the room allocated did not match what you had anticipated based on the website presentation. We will certainly take this feedback onboard to ensure our descriptions are as clear and accurate as possible. While we are pleased to know that you found our location convenient and our staff friendly, we truly wish your overall experience had been more positive. Your comments have been shared with our management team to review how we handle similar situations in the future to ensure we offer the most suitable options to guests facing issues like yours. Once again, we sincerely apologise for the shortcomings and hope that, should you give us another opportunity in the future, we can provide a more comfortable and enjoyable stay. Kind regards, LHH Team

We were very well received by Sylvia, who made the effort to speak French, she was very friendly throughout our stay. We had a room on the park side, we had asked to be on the highest floor possible (4th floor) but disappointment, we had a room on the 1st floor. The room is very small, no chairs, duvet too small. Thank you to the housekeeping staff for the nice attention on our arrival in the room as well as for their work, the room was very clean every day. On the other hand, we slept very poorly during the 8 days because of the outside noise + the noise with the neighbors in the next room for 3 nights, and also because of the street light, the street lamps were on all day. night, the curtains are not blackout + the light from the corridor is also present all night. Breakfast was ok, a little expensive. Thanks to the breakfast staff, very friendly. The hotel is very well located but we will not return mainly because of the noise.

I visited London for 2 weeks in the middle of September 2022, & couldn't have been happier with my choice of hotel! I stayed in a Double Garden View room, which was small by North American standards but more than comfortable for a single person. It had a double bed, 2 side tables, a small vanity with bench, & a small fridge (an empty one, not a mini-bar, so you could keep some drinks & snacks on hand in your room). It was especially nice that there was a kettle so you could make tea or coffee or tea (provided) in your room - to be enjoyed with the delicious cookies they left as a treat! The closet was good, with both hanging space & shelves, as well as a safe for valuables. The bathroom had a standup shower. It would have been nice to have another shelf or two in the bathroom for toiletries, but the vanity in the main area provided some space for those. The air-conditioning worked well, which was a must for me. The windows in the room opened to overlook a lovely little private park with beautiful mature trees.
As for the area surrounding the hotel, there are at least half a dozen supermarkets, bakeries, & convenience shops, as well as many restaurants within a 2 minute walk in virtually any direction. There is also a laundromat just around the corner, which is very convenient if you're on a longer trip. Notting Hill, Kensington Gardens, Kensington High Street, & Hyde Park are all within a 15 minute walk.
There are also 2 Underground stations within a 5 minute walk, & there are multiple bus lines very close to the hotel, so it's very easy to get anywhere you want to go. The hotel really was a perfect home base from which to begin your adventures!
And a special thanks to the front desk staff who were very friendly & helpful!
I am looking forward to my next trip to London & will definitely be staying at London House Hotel when I return!

The London House Hotel was a very pleasant surprise: the room was on the lower floor but it was spacious and tidy, the bathroom was a little small but functional and had everything you needed, really comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet is great. The hotel was recently renovated and it was truly a pleasure to stay there. It is located in a very convenient area in central London, served by two tube stations (within walking distance) and very lively with many restaurants and pubs; but the hotel is very quiet. The staff were really helpful: Silvia and her colleagues at the reception were very professional and friendly, a real added value! Not to be overlooked is the competitive quality-price ratio. I will be back soon for sure. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff. Highly recommended

3 star hotels that could easily be 4! Excellent service, the receptionist Greis super cute and helpful! Super clean room, attention to detail, comfortable bed and all complimentary toiletries and stocked up to exhaustion. view over Kensington Gardens. Top location, two metro stops less than 5 minutes walk and located in a super safe street full of restaurants and supermarkets. If I ever come back to London I would definitely book here again!

I so wanted to love this hotel, central to my activities with air conditioning. And I have waited some days to reflect on my experience. However, it still sours in my mouth. I'd reserved 4 nts in double room, with 2 nts away in Edinburgh, and then a 2-nt return to a single room. Had emailed in advance if they would store my small bag in the interim. Received a quick response which indicated they would free of charge. However, not the case on my morning of departure, being charged 20GBP. 3 staffers reviewed this email, finding reason to refute it...stating this is our policy. Spending more than 900USD for my stay, I stated this was exceptionally poor customer service when I emailed in advance. Whether I misunderstood the response or they did not answer my direct question I will leave to the reader (review their Twitter feed for other customers' angst). About the rooms: Double was nice with refrigerator, but was told hotel did not have washcloths. Amenities were restocked daily, and bed made. Single room on my return turned out to be a double, badly in need of carpet cleaning. Further, the window shade doesn't fully close allowing for sunlight to disturb sleep. Washcloths were provided here, along with biscuit cookies not received before. I had to have the extinct down pillows replaced as I suffered coughing fit the first night in this single. In the end, I felt so disturbed by the front desk's lack of accountability and customer service that I photographed the room on departure so I wouldn't incur some unknown damage charge.

I stayed in the London House Hotel in a 3 person room in July, 2022. The price was quite reasonable. The room was at the back of the hotel on an upper level. Although there is a large development under construction behind the hotel, it was quiet in the evenings and there was still plenty of light and fresh air in the room. The front desk staff could not have been more professional or accommodating, offering a extra duvet for the double bed to make it more comfortable. The Room was air conditioned, light and bright with large windows that opened. The hotel was very, very clean and the room was serviced daily with lots of fluffy towels, new teacups and coffee/tea. We were provided a kettle and refrigerator in the room along with a safe. The bathroom was small but entirely adequate with no shortage of hot water. The locations is fantastic with world class informal ethnic restaurants within blocks and a fabulous flea market weekends on Portabello road. Lots of transport options nearby, and the hotel is a 15 minute walk from Paddington station that services Heathrow.

Dear Susan_0002, To start, thank you so much for having chosen to stay with us and taking your precious time to review us in the TA community. We are absolutely delighted that you had an enjoyable stay with us while visiting London. Dear Andre,
Thank you very much for contacting London House Hotel!
Following your enquiry, I recommend you get an Oyster Card travelcard, as it is a very practical way of travelling around London through train, bus and underground, and it has the most competitive fares. You can get the Oyster Card at any underground station with a deposit of £ 5 (refundable once you return the card at any station). Please note that each person must have their own Oyster Cards.
You can choose between the travelcard (for 1 day or 7 days) and the pay-as-you-go option:
Using the travelcard option:
The fare depends on the number of days you choose and also the city zones you want to include in your Oyster. We are located in zone 1, and pretty much all of the main London attractions are spread between zones 1 and 2 so I wouldn't get an Oyster with more zones than that, as it would be unnecessarily more expensive. The travelcard for one week is around £ 37 per person.
Using the pay-as-you-go option:
Once you purchase the Oyster Card for £ 5, you can add as much credit as you wish. Every underground journey in zones 1 and 2 costs between £ 2.40 and £ 2.90, depending on the time of the day you are travelling. It can also be used on buses for the standard price of £ 1.55 per ride. The remaining balance unused on your Oyster card will be refunded together with the £ 5 deposit, once you return your Oyster Card at any station.
Please visit TFL website for any additional information regarding the Oyster Card and the daily/weekly travelcards.
Moreover, if you have a contactless bank card, it works just as an Oyster Card, so you won't need to purchase one: you can tap your card in/out at any tube station or bus and it will deduct the journey fare.
Alternatively, there are also Hop on Hop off buses running daily throughout London's main landmarks. We have 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours tickets. They don't go to the airport, but it is a very interesting way to see all the sights.
Regarding your arrival and departure days, depending on the airport you are arriving from, there are a few options to be considered:
- Some of the airports, like Heathrow and City are easy to reach by tube and you can pay for the journey with the Oyster/contactless card.
- Trains also run often between all the airports and central London. Please check National Rail website for more information.
- Coaches to central London are usually a popular choice, as they are affordable and run very often. Please check National Express website for ticket fares and schedules.
London is a super well-connected city. No matter how you travel, I am sure commuting will definitely not be a problem. 😊
Should you require any further assistance prior to your arrival, please feel free to contact me.
With best wishes,
LHH Team
