This place has been open just under a week & they should be very proud of what they have achieved, a superb hard & soft product!

All interactions with every member of staff were of the highest standard, room was clean, bright & airy with a spectacular view of the Gherkin & Heron Tower from our room. Majestic views of Canary Wharf can also be enjoyed from the Pocketsquare bar; the hotel’s rooftop bar.

We had one of the best nights sleep here that we have had in any hotel this year so far!

Food & beverage services were excellent across the board. We had breakfast in The Market which would be a grab and go in normal times however, owing to the pandemic it was being used as their breakfast offering which was explained to me in a really clear email sent by Guest experience before our arrival as we had a room rate with breakfast. We were offered a lovely selection of premium products that were largely locally sourced with fresh pastries, this continental substitute was completely worth it so much so when they do bring in the hot food range i hope they keep this going as an option because it was so good I didn’t miss not having the hot food at breakfast! We had dinner in Zoom their on site restaurant, food was delicious (portions were very generous!) the price point & quality made the dinner really good value for money. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails at Pocketsquare the rooftop bar, whilst they only offer a limited menu right now there was something for everyone, our cocktails were top notch! This bar will soon be very popular; right now it’s definitely one of London’s best kept secrets owing to the atmosphere, views, drinks & lovely team!

When we got to our room, I received a lovely card & some sweet treats as a welcome which was a really nice touch & certainly unexpected! Given the hotel is brand new the room was in great condition.

The hotel offers a fitness centre, which we didn’t get time to use but did take a sneak peak & could see it was really well equipped so we will definitely use that next time!

Thanks to Lucia, Aki & the team for giving us a great stay this is definitely going to be a gem in Hyatts crown in the UK, if this is the standard after being open for less than a week! We cant wait to come back!

Amazing customer service on a couple of occasions:

1) They attempted with all their might to assist making a dinner reservation for us at a restaurant in Soho which is known to be perpetually busy. The restaurant apparently does not take reservations on weekends, and their phones were off the hook (seemingly literally as it kept ringing busy the entire time we all tried).

2) On the evening of our departure we needed a vacuum cleaner to seal off our vacuum-sealed packing bags, and the front desk associate went above and beyond to convince housekeeping to assist us (HSKP had originally refused to lend us their vac, which is very understandable).

One suggestion/highlight we might add to the hotel team: Might be helpful to provide clearer direction on the website and/or the app. We got off at Whitechapel with heavy bags and had trouble finding the hotel as we were offline. Luckily a gentleman randomly spotted us being confused and lost and assisted with directions.

Otherwise, this hotel is located very strategically in Whitechapel with two tube stations within walking distance: Aldgate East, which we ended up using the most daily, and Whitechapel, which is extremely convenient to get to/from London Heathrow in one straight line now that the Elizabeth line is active. The hotel is about a 10-min walk from Whitechapel station and approximately 7 minutes away from Aldgate East.

Breakfast items were great: full English always available plus fresh fruits, cereals (healthy oatmeal option available), and pastries. Many different types of teas as well as a full coffee machine for different kinds of coffees and hot cocoa. I loved that non-dairy milks were also present. Eggs were in three different varieties: boiled, scrambled, and fried—and one might order an omelette for about £7 or so.

Overall we do recommend this branch of Hyatt in Whitechapel.

Constant fan you couldn't turn off of night, no window opening option, fridge generator was too loud of night. Bathroom under shelf automatic light comes on and off by itself at night. Sliding bathroom door only with no lock or privacy, can see through the gap in door abit too minimal an contemporary in that sense. People need there privacy and quiet space with the option for no fan or window opening..

Experienced the worst night's sleep I have ever had in a hotel due to extremely uncomfortable bedding (beware if you have sensitive skin) and a loud mini-fridge that echoes around the room due it being kept in a wardrobe that doesn't have an actual door (only a sliding mirror).

Breakfast was included, which was your standard hotel buffet breakfast: English breakfast, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, coffee machine.
During my 2 night stay, my room was not cleaned or attended to in any way. This is because on my first night at around 5:45pm, a member of the housekeeping team knocked once before entering the room. I obviously wasn't expecting a cleaner at that time of the day, and wasn't dressed when she entered my room despite me shouting "1 minute" at the door. I'm unsure who would want their room cleaned in the evening when trying to get ready, but she didn't attempt to come and clean the room the second day / evening at all.

My group had cocktails at the hotel's rooftop bar - I personally wouldn't recommend the Banana Colada as the fermented banana ingredient is particularly pungent, but the staff were very nice.

At check-out, the receptionist told me I would have a receipt emailed to me promptly, but this never happened. After chasing the team for a receipt for 2 weeks, however, I did manage to acquire one.

Location in the deep East end is great for Spitafields and Brick Lan so loads of great restaurants around. Hotel is OK. Not a 5 star Hyatt. Room had a PIR detection unit on the wall that turned on a subdued bathroom light with the slightest movement. Fine but it made a very loud clicking noise every time it went on or off. You move slightly in bed and there is this loud click. The air con fan didn't shut down completely even when switched off. So it was noisy. Breakfast hot buffet was cool so by the time you get back to your table the food is cold. Tough to keep it warm but the containers need lids. Good selection for breakfast. Hotel and room clean.

this hotel has a great location, very close to the underground station, walking distance to nice touristic sights such as Shoreditch, the tower of London and some nice markets. the staff was very kind and helpful, however the room was somewhat of a dissapointment, a small room with a very small cupboard, and no place for the suitcases, the bathroom door could not be locked or even well closed (a sliding door). the water current was weak. the windows could not be opened (the AC was good but still, sometime you need fresh air...). we suggest to bring your own soup and shampoo as what was given was very poor.

Regular visits to the hotel. As a hyatt globalist, the hotel has treated me well.

The hotel locate at the edge of city which is close to central and well connected. The price is good value for money ( compare to many other similar hotels from big hotel chain) for such nearby city location which is close to many attractions (10 min to London bridge , towerhill by walk and brick lane is right next to hotel)

Most room are big and new ( this is a hotel hotel from 2021) and their balcony or terrace room has god skyline view and good for summer sunbathing. Breakfast well exceed the standard of similar hotels and chef do very good omelette. The hotel has roof top bar does bespoke cocktail and has outdoor heating. All staff are all very friendly and keen to serve and do excellent upgrade for globalist guest. Welcome plate with small cakes also nice added benefits.

Best hyatt place/limited service hotel in London in term of location , service, quality and price.

I stayed for over 40 nights at this hotel, and it was really clean and the rooms were modern and really quiet due to very thick double glazed windows.

In terms of location it is a short and convenient 2 mins walk to Aldgate East underground station.

Nice rooftop views from the 9th floor cocktail bar called Pocket Square too.

Would stay again for sure

We stayed at this Hyatt Place at the end of March 2022. We chose this hotel mainly on price and having stayed at other Hyatt Place properties in the US. Overall this is a nice hotel and is very clean, modern, and well maintained. The staff is very nice and efficient also. There is a restaurant on the lower level, which we did not go to, as well as a Starbucks. But trust me there are many nice little coffee shops very close by with great food and better coffee and tea! There is also a great rooftop bar with great views and both outdoor and indoor seating. Drink prices were a little high, but that’s to be expected I guess. Definitely check it out at least once, but remember there are tons of pubs in London also!! There is a fitness room, but no laundry facilities. (they offer a very pricy laundry service though)

The rooms were much smaller and spartan than the Hyatt Place rooms in the US. The bed was pretty firm, like most European beds, there are USB charging ports, a big TV, small sofa and small desk. The bathroom was sufficient, but there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom. The room was very clean and the staff kept it that way. The room was very quiet, we did not hear neighbors at all. So these are not luxury rooms, but we weren’t in the room for long periods other than to sleep, so we didn’t mind.

The only downside here is the location, it’s definitely not the best area of town. Definitely a little grittier area of London, with a wide mix of people. We didn’t necessarily feel unsafe, but I’m not sure a single woman should be wandering late at night here. It’s very close to an Underground station, Aldgate East. The upside is there are a lot of different places to eat, and the prices are more reasonable than other areas of town. It’s next to Brick Lane, with its multicultural food (mainly Indian and East Asian) options, and a short walk to the wonderful Spitalfields Market with its vendors and array of food stalls. There are a couple of cool old pubs close by too.

So in summary, this is a nice hotel, not luxurious but better than a budget one, and a good value. If you want a nice location with fancy stores and restaurants look elsewhere in town. But it was a pretty good choice for us for the week.

It’s accessible by car in terms of being on a main road, however the hotel doesn’t have its own car park. From researching I saw there was an NCP carpark up the road, but we ended up taking the train and using the tube to travel round London as Aldgate East station is really close.
