Checked in on 28/12/2014 with two other family members after midnight due to a terrible experience at another hotel. The staffs were friendly and the check-in process was pretty smooth despite the fact that we booked the hotel just an hour ago. After the check-in, we were extremely satisfied with the room. It had everything we required, although the fridge...

We decided to have 2 nights in London, we booked through 'Lastminute.com/ secret hotels' the cost was very reasonable and the location and views looked great, on arrival we were greeted and given our keys to our room, the room did not have the view advertised at all. were looking at the back of an office block 11 floors up....

We booked this hotel in Aug for New Year due to it's location. We paid for a superior double and were not given it as they said they had none of these rooms left, this put a dampener on our stay as the cost was very expensive due to New Year rates. I would also recommend you take your own...

The grange city hotel is literally a few minutes walk from the Tower of London and tower bridge, the location is great as you can easily access the water taxi at the bottom of the walk down the Tower of London to see the other sites on the water, the fare is cheap. Parking is limited to none, I went...

Stayed for one night as part of a deal for an overnight stay in town. Hotel is OK - not a 5 star in my view (having stayed in 5 stars before) more of a 4 star. Staff pleasant and helpful, no problem there, room adequate - not large, clean and tidy with all the relevant facilities e.g. hair dryer,...

Reception were lovely and friendly but couldn't budge on 3pm check in. They said they'd upgraded us, not sure what our original allocation looked like, our room faced a rail line - you could see people sitting in the train - so we had to keep the curtains drawn, we didn't hear the train actually but we did hear the...

My wife and I stayed at the Grange City from December 31st to 3rd Jan. thief website advertised check in at 14:00 but upon arrival we were advised it was 15:00. We came back later and waited 15 mins to check in. Part of the process involves pre authorising the cost of our stay and a nominal sum of £75...

We stayed here on the 20th and 21st December for a family members wedding. The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect and had a View of the Tower of London and the Old wall! We only had Breakfast here but it was nice just your regular buffet breakfast. The hotel is in a great location...

If 5* conjures images of luxury then the Grange City is not it. Don't get me wrong it's a decent hotel, well located with good amenities, but don't come here expecting flawless rooms and or service. There's a lot about this place that's dated, confusing and / or frustrating. Strange Restaurant opening times, poor communication and tired fittings are common....

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
