We stayed here as a base for our trip to London. Not needing much more than a place to sleep we looked mainly for location, close to excursions we wanted to do. This hotel was ideal for that, close to Russell Square tube station on the Picadilly line. The foyer and restaurant area looked new and modern, but once out...

On our annual weekend trip to London, we decided to return to the Bedford Hotel for two nights. This time our room was on the top floor again front facing - apart from a somewhat different window style - it was much the same. Good firm beds, two chairs (great), narrow bath with hot water & shower overhead & seperate...

The staff were friendly and helpful. The small single room was basic but clean and quiet. The foyer and dinning room bright and cheery. Breakfast has good range. Location is great lots of restaurants right outside the door inc Marco Pierre White close for Westend and Covent Garden. My business was in Tavistock Sq in easy walking distance

After being a frequent visitor to the Bedford Hotel and being accustomed to its early 20th century ambience( although it really was a bit old!!!) I was delighted with my latest visit for 5 nights with my grandson. The hotel has been almost completely modernised and has a good restaurant also attached to it. The room was clean and even...

The Bedford Hotel, London, was a great choice. The reception area and dining/bar room were lovely, bright and welcoming. The staff was very nice and accommodating. By the end of our stay, they were calling us by name. The rooms were well sized although the bathroom space was tight. Our floor had new carpet, but our travel companions floors did...

Stayed here numerous times and always been happy. It has now got better with a face lift on reception and a new bar / restaurant. Top class restaurant it is not but very adequate with good attentive staff and at a very reasonable price. Can't fault this hotel. Good value for money. Will definitely be back.

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the Bedford Hotel, peace and quiet is our priority. With the elegant bustle of Bloomsbury on every side, that might sound like an impossible task. Covent Garden and the West End are just a short walk away, and the British Museum is on our doorstep. But at the Bedford, we can promise you a good night's sleep too. How do we do it? Well, many of the rooms overlook our picturesque private garden. The Bedford is small and intimate, offering a warm welcome with a personal touch. And it's a great place to relax with company too, with a charming guest lounge and laid back café occupying the ground floor. Meanwhile, the Bedford Garden restaurant serves home-made British specialities, with a modern twist, overlooking our secret garden. We're able to offer a little corner of traditional English tranquility, here, in a bustling, international city. It's made us a firm favourite with returning guests. ... more   less
