Very nice location. Gloucester Road is a fantastic neighborhood in Kensington. This is a two minute walk to the underground stop and there are many restaurants nearby. I had stayed here four years ago and chose it again because it is clean and quiet, and very reasonably priced. There used to be a very nice continental breakfast you could purchase for next to nothing, but it stopped during Covid. Apparently it’s going to start up again in the spring. That was a real convenience that I missed this time. There are a couple of little things they could do to make a stay even more enjoyable… Like provide a soap dish and a shelf in the shower. I’m hoping next time I stay they might have those amenities. I will stay again! Thank you, Villa Kensington!

Enjoyed my stay at The Villa Kensington. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was phenomenal—Gloucester Road underground station was maybe five mins walk and nearby bus stops were plentiful. I could easily get to anywhere I needed to go.

The room was comfortable and quiet, but the decor was a little tired. We had plenty of towels supplied and housekeeping tidied up when we needed it. The only downside to my stay was the lack of advertised breakfast. (There was no food, but coffee and tea in the room kettle.)

All in all, a safe and comfortable stay at a friendly, welcoming place!

On the positive side, it’s a great location in this lovely area being near the tube and handy for the Royal Albert Hall. It was a bit hostel-like, in that there is one small reception area, no bar or lounge or breakfast facilities.
The room was very small with old furniture and the tv was absolutely tiny. However, it was clean, the bed was comfy enough and the shower was good.
It served the purpose of a base for us visiting London but I would not like to spend any length of time there as it was very spartan, a little bleak and did not afford any facilities at all. London prices for accommodation are extortionate but maybe go that bit more for a little more comfort and surroundings. We had to go out for breakfast and there is a limited choice of places which are expensive.

Unfortunately one of the worst hotels Ive stayed in, me my parents and my sister had 2 rooms booked, one was up a floor and me and my sisters room was on the basement floor or "dungeon" as we joked, our room was very dark, air con didnt work, initially when we got in I placed the card in the slot for electricity and it didnt work, I rang reception and he told me "to give it a shake", to be fair when I did shook it aggressively inside the slot the lights eventually came on 🤣 the beds are rock hard, the room left alot to be desired! The only good part about the room was the bathroom, the shower was nice, I have to say the staff were very friendly, my parents room was a little better not much they were lucky they had a bright room, the decor in the rooms was really old fashioned, the hotel needs a full revamp, we had booked for 2 nights but it was that bad I booked us another hotel for the 2nd night and I was so glad I did it was worth the loss of money! No comparison! In fairness to the lads in reception they apologised and offered me another room but there was no way I was staying another night, the staff were the best part of the stay

I stayed here with my best friend in August. Was really disappointed about the room. The bathroom was so small my knees touched the sink when I was on the toilet, the room smelled like mold, it had no air conditioning, the room had a dirty carpet all over the floor and we heard noices from the ceiling all night, every day. Not to mention that people tried to open our door at night. Breakfast cost 10 pounds a day. The only good thing was that the staff were nice.

The worse hotel we have ever stayed in in London

I have emailed the manager regarding the numerous problems we had, but he has not replied. Avoid it. Location is the only positive, nothing else.
Our room was small in the basement below reception, so very noisy plus our room was on the staff corridor, so noise from them. The receptionist said our room was only sold when the hotel was full, but it was not full..shocking

After reading some glorious reviews we booked into this hotel, and to be honest the location is perfect - close to the Gloucester Road tube station, pubs and grocery stores and within easy reach of Hyde Park and important museums. The hotel though was not that brilliant. Our room on the top floor was cramped with a noisy heating system, small and cold bathroom (water had a very low pressure too). They only offer a continental breakfast (cold room I should say) with not too much variety - including coffee, so if you like something else rather than filter coffee you’ll be disappointed. Nothing wrong with offering only a continental breakfast...but for the same price you might get a better selection at pubs and cafes around the hotel. It was an average hotel, not bad but not good either. Staff was friendly and helpful! They should put some TLC into the building - a lovely period terrace... it could be fantastic!

Dear Guest, thank you for staying with us. I am a bit disappointed we could not exactly match your expectations; after all I am still convinced we do price our offering correctly. I'll see if I can convince the owners to put some TLC, (and a bit of money too.......) into the building. Take care. Ferdinand. GM

The hotel was very flexible in moving the date of our room booking as the concert we had planned to go to was rescheduled due to the pandemic. We stayed just one night but would definitely go back as it is in a great location, close to a tube station and good restaurant and fast food outlets. Our room was compact but had all the usual facilities. Bed and pillows were very comfy.

We booked Villa Kensington for our weekend away to see Robbie in Hyde Park.
The Location is excellent, 2 minute walk to the tube station. It's 6 / 7 minutes to Hyde Park, 20 minutes to St Pancras, ish.

In the area there are pubs, shops, restaurants alongside supermarkets, chemist etc..there's probably nothing you can't get within a five minute walk.
The room we had was a twin, overlooking the tree lined street. The bedding was clean, as was the room. Tv and tea /coffee facilities, large wardrobe, dresser and set of drawers. We stayed 2 nights and our room was cleaned during our stay. Shower room was more than adequate, with complimentary toiletries..
The guys on reception were lovely, really friendly and although we didn't need any help from them I'm sure they would have assisted in anything we needed.
To sum up, friendly staff, clean hotel conveniently placed at a very reasonable price
Thank you

I was nervous to stay here because of mixed reviews but I can honestly say this little boutique hotel is a gem! Conveniently located in South Kensington, close to many wonderful restaurants and pubs, as well as a 2 min. walk to the tube. The area is safe and quiet, yet very close to everything (Harrods is less than 30 min. walk away!). The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful with lots of local suggestions. I opted not to purchase the breakfast because there is a Sainsbury's across the road--perfect for a quick pastry on the go in the mornings.
I highly recommend this hotel and plan on returning with my family.

I stayed in a room that might be classed as the basement, the window was below pavement level. It was a triple room and was perfectly light. Would happily stay in it again.
