I had to stay overnight in London for business. My colleague made the reservation for me through a well know search engine (provider). I got a single room (also called "the room with no number") and paid more than him (in a double room). My room was 4x3 mts (12 ft x 9 ft) with a very tiny bathroom (half...

Wouldn’t it be nice if we all had an eccentric rich Aunt with a flat in Knightsbridge where we could crash out when in London? Now we do. Last night we went to see Nigel Kennedy at the Royal Albert Hall. The show overran and didn’t finish until midnight but having walked from RAH, we were safe in bed at...

Had a great three night stay before Christmas. Interesting Hotel with access via a lift. My single room was large enough and well equipped with Molton Brown toiletries but rather strangely no shower curtain separated the bath/shower from the main room. Continental Breakfast was selected from a menu and brought to the room. Very nice and well presented on China...

The people running the place a very friendly and helpful. The property has never been a "full service " facility, but the rooms are pleasant and clean and the beds offered us all a welcomed night's sleep. We always enjoy the breakfast that is served at whatever time you request and they give the guest quite a few options to choose....

You enter via a lift which takes you up to a tiny reception. There are no facilities other than the room which you've booked, which I didn't mind at all. On the ground floor there are function rooms for parties and events. The room was nicely decorated, clean and there were Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast is either served...

I arrived having had to leave a function ill but the place is so hard to find and it's down a back street. I didn't find it comfortable as it's so dark you can't really see the street numbers and even when you find it there is not an open door. Instead I went to a side street but when...

In Booking website you are informed this is a quiet place to stay. It is not at all. The Searcy's group is more into the catering then into the hotel business. They organise Events and parties in this small building in the FIRST floor. And the floor becomes a night club with live music! They send you an e-mail informing...

I had a appointment to visit the German Embassy at a specific time so I looked for a reasonable priced hotel within walking distance of the Embassy. Searcy’s Roof Garden Rooms seem to be sensible priced for London and just around the corner and I did look it up before I got there and I was aware of the rather...

Staying in Knightsbridge

Neighbourhood Profile
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.
