Just got back from a two night stay with my husband to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and I can not recommend this hotel enough. Our room was perfect for our needs with a private toilet and tea and coffee facilities, and the hotel is situated just opposite Hyde Park making it easy to get around the sights. The hotel staff were absolutely lovely, the lady who did our breakfast was a delight and the owner and her partner went above and beyond to help us out when we had an issue getting to the station. We will certainly be back again.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary as a last minute getaway. We noted this celebration on the booking and there was a note and a bottle of Prosecco waiting in the room for us, which was very kind. Both reception staff we met were very friendly and helpful. This is pretty much where the good part of our stay ends!

The other reviewers must have had some of the bedrooms shown in the advertising photos, which looked much more comfortable than ours was (room 9, 3rd floor). The room was tiny, barely big enough to swing a cat, and the bathroom was almost big enough to turn around in. The shower door was broken and replaced with a curtain which couldn’t open or close properly because of the way it was hung. The tiles were cracked and in poor condition all round.

Location wise, it’s perfect for central London - literally a few minutes’ walking and you’re in Hyde Park or Oxford Street. However, this also meant that the noise late into the night on a Saturday kept us awake until gone midnight. We had the window open as it was so hot in the room, but had to close it in order to block out some of the noise. Due to the age of the property, the windows are single glazed and sash, so did not do much in quietening the traffic and sirens outside. Luckily there was a fan so we weren’t too uncomfortable with the window closed.

Breakfast was good, although I find it odd when breakfast is served in such a small room, that they don’t book guests in time slots to avoid the inevitable rush at particular times in the morning, which is exactly what happened. There were no spare tables, so we ended up being seated with another couple on the same table. Ok, but not the ideal start to our morning of a romantic weekend away! Breakfast was ok, all cooked and laid out buffet style with both hot and some continental items.

Check out was 12pm which is always appreciated when you don’t want to feel rushed out of your room.

Overall, a very average stay for a reasonably high priced room for what we got - but the location and service saved it from a lower score. We are unlikely to return.

I stayed at the Parkwood Hotel in June this year and I could not imagine a better place to enjoy a summer city break. Apart from its excellent location just two steps away from Hyde Park and Oxford Street, this charming B&B hotel makes you feel like home thanks to very welcoming staff, cosy rooms and great cleaning service provided. I would like to say big Thank You to Gail - a Hotel Manager, who was extremely kind and caring and made a huge effort when assisting us with finding attractions and advising on local resturants and pubs. I would strongly recommend this little gem hotel in the heart of London and will definitely come back when planning my next trip to London!

My partner and I stayed at the fantastically well-located and comfortable Parkwood Hotel last winter. We enjoyed the quiet and clean room, the delicious breakfasts, walking in Hyde Park, and all the conveniences of Marble Arch, including the proximity to public transport and all that London has to offer. Most striking, though, was the amazing kindness and care when my partner became sick and had to go to hospital. The proprietor, Gail, and all the staff were beyond fantastic. The Parkwood is truly a home away from home.

We stayed for 2 days in room 1 which is situated on the ground floor. The room was airy, the beds were so comfortable and the facilities within were very very good.

The staff are so accommodating, really good service and a quality full English breakfast was served, which included the best sausages we had ever eaten.

My daughter and myself were meeting up with friends and family and the location was perfect as there was lots of choice of quality bars and restaurants.

I would highly recommend the Parkwood Hotel as it was a pleasure to stay there

Staff & Food lovely. also location is spot on.
however the building is very old and tired. our room. has 64 steps from ground floor to our room. then 79 to the breakfast bar
there is no fire escape at all. very concerning when so high up in a building.
the shower was unusable.
the window can not be closed fully nor can the bathroom door.
this is a very old building that needs a lot of work to bring it up to hotel standards. in fact it is more of a B&B.
if you have any health issues at all you will struggle if you're placed in one of the top rooms
the location is quite simply fantastic, walking distance from Oxford St & Hyde Park.
sadly the building is really showing its ago.
walking in to the breakfast bar the floor gives way under foot in the door way.
the food is really good, none of this cheap quality stuff. and there is plenty of it.
it's all a buffet type breakfast,
staff are very friendly & will go out of their way to help you there is even a resident dog that will make a top notch fuss of you.
if you're not to picky on standards & do not mind a climb up lots of steps then you will be fine,

The location is great! We ran in the park (right across the street), tube and bus service nearby and a small grocery store, Sainsbury.

I gave it three stars because there were a few days, where the room was not cleaned or replenished with clean towels, etc., run down facilities,( our sliding bathroom room did not close all the way), carpet very worn, and breakfast lady who was so rude! Not sure why I was yelled at when I accidentally stepped over the threshold to the kitchen!

Don’t stay in a room facing the very loud Oxford street. We stayed on the 4th floor, room 16…which entailed quite a workout to get to and leave our room. Tons of stairs to get there, but quiet. Make sure you have a fan in your room in the summer! Overall, positive…maybe a 3.5 stars.

We booked the parkwood hotel for a family trip to London for the weekend. Absolutely brilliant hotel and location, Gail and her team were fantastic with us from start to finish, very accommodating and suggested great places to eat.

The room was great for a family, beds were comfortable and room was equipped with all we needed. There is a great sun terrace to sit and chat to other guests. The breakfast was a great start to the day and very good.

The location literally less than 5 mins walk to Hyde Park and Oxford Street was amazing, great to walk through on the way to the London attractions

Would definitely reccomend and when we return to London we will look to stay here again.

I stayed at the Parkwood for 1 night in a room in the ground floor while I was seeing a friend in London.

The room was a clean on arrival, and a comfortable temperature, the bed was comfy so I had a great nights sleep and all of the facilities worked perfectly.

The staff we very friendly throughout my stay and the breakfast was very tasty.

The location of the hotel was perfect if you are meeting up with friends in central London as it is walking distance to Marble Arch tube station and Oxford Street if you are a shopper.

I would highly recommend staying at the Parkwood Hotel is it alway a pleasure staying there.

We supply baby cots but the family rooms are on the higher floor if the person has a disability but, with a squeeze, we could put the cot in the double room with patio on the ground floor . We can help if anyone needs assistance with the ground floor rooms. If you would send us the dates that you will need the room we can check for availability and send you the price.

There is only 1 family room with a shared bathroom, all the others have their own en-suite bathrooms.
