Maranton House near Earls Court is a safe hotel in a charming neighborhood. The hotel does not have an elevator. We stayed in #20 and the back room can be very noisy from the neighborhood, as the sound seems to echo up. Overall, it is a clean, safe hotel within easy walking distance of Earls court and many pubs and...

Based on TripAdvisor ratings, we booked our 4 day/5 night stay at the Maranton House Hotel. The price was average, about 100 pounds a night and was in walking distance to the tube and in a decent area. The room we were given was 5 flights up the narrow staircase (no one offered to assist us with carrying our many...

Yes a good location but thats it. Very expensive for what it is. The reception was OK and thats as far as it goes. My advice, if you want basic and I mean basic no frills and want to pay night on £100.00 then this is the place for you. Me? never again!!!!!!!

I stayed at the Maranton on a Saturday night. There was some sort of club/bar just outside my window so the blaring music did not allow for much sleep. The hotel was old and basic but had the essentials. As it's an old hotel there are no elevators, only stairs. The location of the hotel is excellent with Earls court...

Nice, comfortable hotel in a very convenient position. Very good value for central London. Breakfast was OK, usual continental breakfast type. I intend to return to this hotel next autumn. Single room was more spacious than in most London hotels.

We had room 14 and we had a nice view upon a small parc. The hotel is nearby the underground within the main metro lines. The Hotel room was as you can expect from a cheap hotel. Everything that you need is there but it isn't designers stuff. The furniture is best to describe as antique. Don't go for the...

The hotel was in an outstanding location, very close to the tube. The breakfast was poor, I decided not to take it as there are many choices for breakfast (and rather cheap) and generally for food nearby. The room was a little small and not very clean, but I would recommend it if you don't plan to stay in there...

When my luggage went missing, the front desk staff at the Maranton House Hotel were happy to be the ones who waited for it turned up, freeing me to go and explore London. And when I couldn't charge my phone to call the lost luggage people, they tried for me twice -- even though it never worked, and we spent...

It is a very average hotel in London. Quite aged, in a typical white Victorian building, side by side with other similar. The plus: very good location in Kensington, close to the tube and shop/restaurant. Our room had also a nice balcony looking at a garden and square. The minus: the breakfast. Cleanliness and pricing...average.

I was in this hotel about a month ago with my boy-friend . The room was small but nice . The breakfast was also good. The hotel has got a beautiful position. It is next to the stop of Earl's Court where you can take the underground to go to the center of london in ten minutes!!

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
