As a hotel this place is pretty good. It's hard finding a reasonably priced hotel in central London and this place is fine. (It is ideal for anyone visiting Great Ormond Street Hospital, which is very close by.) I would stay here again because it ticks the price, cleanliness and location boxes. However having had the breakfast on my first...

Good location and the rooms ok. The wireless worked bad, specially in the morning and evening when everyone was trying to go online. The breakfast was a disappointment. You travel to England and have to pay extra for a English breakfast. And the breakfast that was included was small and the coffe and tea came late too us. If you...

I booked an overnight stay with breakfast for myself and my wife at a very advantageous price. The hotel is very well situated for Euston, St. Pancras and Kings Cross stations, as well as the British Museum and countless restaurants. The room was on the small side, but spotlessly clean and more than adequate for our purposes. The bathroom was...

Freiendly staff at reception, good fast straight forward check in. We was on the third floor, the room was perfect, bed clean and comfy, bathroom with white fluffy towels, and a good shower. There was a hairdryer in bedroom, kettle, coffee, tea, suger and milk. We also had a male cleaner, which kept the room spotless and supplied coffee , tea,...

Stayed 2 nights with friends to attend a company Christmas do and the theatre. The hotel was clean but a little dated. Our rooms were adequate size but poorly equipped for the standard of hotel and price paid - I recently stayed in a budget B&B in Blackpool for a quarter of the price which was better equipped. There were...

This was the second time we've stated at the Tavistock. It is very well situated in Bloomsbury, a short distance from the nearest tube station and easily walkable from the West End (about 20 -25 mins). The hotel has an attractive, stylish Art Deco reception area and restaurant- most of the fixtures/ fittings appear original. The room was fairly basic,...

This hotel has the potential to be a fantastic hotel. It has a superb situation in central London, but it is very tired looking. There are some wonderful art decor features which need renovated, the corridor carpets looked sad, the bar could do with some new furniture, and the television in the bedroom had enough dust on the screen to...

We booked this hotel and we didn't think it would be much good but we were totally wrong when we walked into the hotel. Friendly staff at reception straight forward check-in and up to the room on the 7th floor, the hotel is like the tardis-bigger on the inside! The room was perfect, 2 beds, bathroom-shower/bath everything you need. The...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
