I was slightly worried after ready what seemed to be fairly negative reviews about this hotel but myself and group of friends (4 in total) were perfectly happy.

Hotel is in a lovely area, a few minutes walk from Paddington Station and Underground. Lots of restaurants and cafes around. The hotel is set back in a lovely street. Only a few minutes walk to Hyde Park also which was lovely.

Greeted by Kevin who couldn't have done enough for us. We arrived early on the Saturday morning way before check in and were able to leave our bags with them to allow us to head off into London and our afternoon show without been laden down.

We had booked a quad room and although we guessed it would be 'compact' we weren't too sure what we would find. The room wasn't huge but you could walk between the beds easily. There were 2 singles and 1 double. It was very clean and perfectly adequate for our 1 night stay. The bathroom was very compact but again clean. It was quite a task getting showered and ready in there but we managed! We had a little noise from other rooms during the night as people were coming in but in an old building you expect a little noise but there was no traffic noise/sirens whatsoever as you are well set back from the road.

Breakfast the next morning was ok. Nothing to write home about but there was plenty of juice, tea and coffee and as it was included in the price it was perfectly adequate.

Again, with another day around London planned, we were able to leave our bags and head off, returning about 6pm to collect them before heading back home on our trains. Saved us carrying them around all day and the weather wasn't great so that helped!

Great hotel, great price, great service, nice and clean. We will definitely be staying again on our next trip.

Dear Jen We trust you had a pleasant trip back to the Midlands and thank you for your kind and positive words where you are indeed always welcome back here with us!. We do have several Quadruple rooms and although Central London can be a squeeze at times I will see that you get one of the more spacious rooms next time and a nice bottle of sparkly :). With kind regards, SO.

We booked for this hotel but actually stayed three doors down at the Kingsway, it appears both properties are joint managed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I've listed pros and cons because we're pretty laid back travellers so found it absolutely fine, but others my be bothered by aspects of our stay. Pros: the room was warm and cosy, with a working fan in case we got too warm. Beds were comfy, and the double we booked was actually king-sized which was appreciated. Large telly with Netflix. Adequate tea and coffee facilities and plenty of space. An absolutely amazing location, and parking (£15 per day, cash only) available directly outside. Bathroom was small but we found it fine, my 6 ft 4 partner could comfortably fit in the shower. Cons: free breakfast was a bit bizarre and my partner found a piece of cloth cooked into his bacon (pictured) 😂. Also, absolutely no gluten free options and the kitchen will definitely cross-contaminate food as there is no room for separate cooking areas. We had a room on the third floor, the stairs were very steep with no lift available, so not very accessible. The furniture was worn (and the desk was literally falling apart). The fire escape was well sign posted but blocked by a travel cot. Overall we had a comfortable, happy stay and couldn't fault it for price compared to competitors nearby, but there are things that you may not find to your taste!

The staff were extremely helpful with excellent customer service. The manager was very keen to make my stay as comfortable and welcoming as possible. The location is very close to Hyde Park, plenty of bars and cafes and underground stations.

£267.00 per night for this absolute rip off of a place! Call yourself a hotel? I've stayed in better hostels for a fraction of the price. Get your act together and employ a cleaner, buy new loo brushes in fact just do a major refurbishment or close down. Management need to also go on a good manners course 😝

I made reservations at this hotel and upon arrival they tried to charge me $2000 for one night! They told me that they made an error when the price was posted and that one night would be an additional $1500. The hotel manager harassed us each time we walked past the lobby asking us to pay the extra amount even though it wasn't agreed to in our reservation. The room was horrible and not even worth $50 per night. The bathroom was smelly. the mini frig was extremely noisy. The toilet didn't work properly and we were without power in the bathroom for 36 hours. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, they gave us a flashlight. They put us in a room next to where construction was going on so there was an excessive amount of noise. We were not made aware of this room refurbishing going on. We didn't not have hotels in our room. We repeatedly requested them from housekeeping but didn't get them. We had to make numerous trips to the front desk to get towels. They didn't have enough to accommodate all of their guests.

For starters, whoever was on duty at the front desk on the 3rd of Dec. 2023 at 6:22 PM (UK time) is out to make Admiral lose more business! How do I call a hotel to inform on a late check-in due to delays at the airport, only for the concierge to answer with a mere ‘Hello?’ as though in his living room feeling disturbed? I had to ask if indeed this was Admiral to confirm I was actually speaking to a business. I was still trying to explain the situation when the phone was dropped. I called back immediately and severally and he did not bother to pick up.

My aged father then arrives the hotel late in the evening only to be checked into a tiny Basement room with no hot water running, no heating, no TV and telephone which were physically there but not functional – A room no guest should be given if Admiral cared about ALL its guests. We had paid for the Single Standard for 5 days - He asked to be moved and was told there was no other room available which was not accurate.

On the 2nd day and after more unattended complaints about this room, I looked at several online booking platforms to gather proof that indeed there was availability and only then did Admiral switch him to a room where these basic amenities were finally available - on the 3rd day!

It is appalling that Admiral would give out such a room in the first place, with not even a functional phone to call the reception to complain, and then claim they run a hotel!? And this after collecting payment in full from a guest??

If at all there are good reviews about this place then I really would be curious to know why my dad was intentionally given This room!!

DO NOT stay here!

We arrived around 11.15 obviously we knew check in was 2pm but the manager gave us a permit for our car so we could venture out till 2pm. We booked one single and one double bed as that's what it showed when we booked so that meant the 2 boys would share a bed and me n my husband in the double bed when we went back at 2pm to check in the manger said we have upgraded you to the family room with 2 single beds and a double perfect. The room was nice. The breakfast was lovely cereals toast and jam full English tea coffee and fresh juices the lady was lovely always had a smile and talked very friendly lady nothing too much trouble. If ever we went back to London would definitely book her again. Great location close to everything within walking distance

The Admiral offered me exactly what I was looking for - a quiet room for a good price in Paddington. An added, unexpected bonus is the staff's exceptional customer service. I accidentally left my passport behind and didn't realize it until quite some time later. When I called to check if it was there, Kin was so helpful and committed to doing everything he could to get it back to me. I will always be grateful to the staff at the Admiral and highly recommend this hotel for a good night's sleep in Central London at an affordable rate.

We arrived and were fortunate enough to be found a parking space outside by a member or staff. Really attentive staff at reception and equally at breakfast.
Excellent location for Hyde park/central london in general. We were visiting winter wonderland.
We left a beloved soft toy behind and Sol has very kindly taken the time and expense to post it back to us.
We would definitely return here

Watching too. I'm so embarrassed for him. Thought his attitudes/comments outdated for the early 20th century let alone 21st! His prices are absolutely ridiculous.
