Just spent a lovely break in a small hotel in Hampstead. We couldn't have picked a better place, minutes away from the tube, excellent service, Staff were brilliant room and bathroom on the small side, but we didn't spend much time in the room so what does it matter. We have found a little Gem and will definately be staying...

Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Stokes. Our jobs are so much easier when we have such pleasant guests that understand and appreciate what La Gaffe has to offer. We may be small but we try our best to make all our guests comfortable with what we can provide. Hope you can come back soon.

Quite cozy room with T-fal and tea, coffee stick, shampoo/conditioner/soap in shower room, clean towels and dryer. Downstairs Italian restaurant serves fabulous real Italian dishes and alcohol. Italian staffs are really kind and helpful. They reserve Taxi for customers. From the tube station, 10 mins walk and there are grocery stores, Japanese restaurants around the station. Local Bus to Victoria,...

We last stayed at La Gaffe in 2013 and returned to London in May 2017, so booked a room there again. It's still very good value for London and the restaurant continues to serve very good Italian food. Very comfortable beds and newly, to us, renovated bathrooms. As usual, in affordable London hotels, don't plan on swinging cats in the...

Thank you for your kind words and appreciating what we try to achieve. I am glad that you mention space as I am happy to let everybody know that all our rooms are on the small side. We do the best with what we have and thankfully the vast majority of people that stay with us understand. Take care and...

Nice place and close to tube. However room 3 is ridiculously small. I would urge the management to scrap this afterthought of a room, or be realistic for the charge for this room. Nearly £100 a night is a rip off. I could have stayed in the Holiday Inn for that cost. Other than that, its clean, food is good...

Thank you Mr Morley for your review. It's correct, room 3 is a small room.....And all of our single rooms are compact rooms. Doubles and twins are bigger but not hugely. We are a restaurant with rooms in buildings from the 1850's....... And these rooms were not designed to all be ensuite! However, we have tried to do the best...

First visit here, won't be the last. Charming place with interesting decor. Excellent, though limited menu. Can highly recommend the rack of lamb. Heath Street is not the best venue for someone wheelchair-dependent as I am but most attentive staff sprung to the door when I arrived and helped me up the 2 steps.

we met with friends and each of us choose a different meal. we were all fascinated by the taste of each food. Service was typically Italian and we weren't bothered much by the waiter. We will definitely be back

La Gaffe does what it does well, with no fuss and most importantly lots of free tables. We ate here last night and, while most restaurants down the hill were packed, La Gaffe was almost empty. The menu almost never changes, but that's a good thing. I had the sirloin stead with peppercorn sauce and it was delicious. My other...

Glad you enjoyed your meal with us. Our core menu does change sometimes but we always tend to retain our most popular dishes. We supplement the main menu with our weekly specials that vary quite a bit........ As for lots of free tables, if you had tried to come along last night we didn't have any tables open at all....

This year's visit to London was highlighted by our return to the lovely Hampstead hotel, La Gaffe. We again enjoyed its quaint charm and homey atmosphere as well as the splendid service afforded to us by the owner, Lorenzo. The hotel is well situated near the Tube. We did a guided walking tour of the area and discovered interesting sites...

Having driven past this place a million times and never knowing it was there, we found ourselves invited to dinner. Our coats were taken at the door and we were seated by the window. (A popular trick by restauranteurs to show busy.) The restaurant wasn't busy and it was Friday night, perhaps because this place is more of an hotel...

Thank you for taking the time to write a nice detailed review. We never can quite predict when we will be busy, sometimes a Monday night can be the most hectic night of the week!! Our location and the poor parking options limit our restaurant trade, although good for our guests that are staying with us. I hope you will...
