I stayed for alomst a week in October. The room I had was pretty narrow, but functional. There are still constructions going on in the building, and the room service only took care of the bed, but not the floor. It made me wonder how often they had hoovered the carpet. I was a bit disappointed when I found out...

Maybe a bad day, but let down by one of the worst breakfasts I've (not) eaten! I quite like the good value slightly seedy Georgian hotels in Bloomsbury, as long as you don't look for luxury and are happy with shared bathrooms they can be very good value and friendly. The Ruskin ticks these boxes, a bit run down but...

We spend two night there. Hotel is very basic (we did not try breakfast because they serve it only to 9:30). We were lucky to have free WiFi in the room, but there was no TV!! I missed it when I book hotel, but remember, there is no TV in rooms...

We needed a London hotel just for one night, with me heading to Kings Cross and my wife to the West End next morning. The Ruskin was perfectly located for our needs. And if we'd wanted to spend time in the British Museum, well that was literally over the road. As it was just for the night, we made do...

The hotel is in a renovated Georgian building. I was asked to pay in advance before even seeing the room, which was a bit disconcerting, but it turned out all right. I had a single that was small, clean, and quiet, and faced an annex to one of my favorite London attractions, the British Museum. The hotel is also only...

We stayed in a family room for one night. The room itself was very small (one double and a single bed) and is in need of refurbishment but it was very clean and comfortable. There is no tv and the attached bathroom is very small. We slept well and enjoyed our stay. We got stuck in the lift once when...

Anyone out there with a spare £250,000 wishing to finance a complete renovation project of what was once undoubtedly a fine Georgian building need look no further than the Ruskin Hotel. I use the word "hotel" in its loosest possible sense - furniture and fittings which should have been consigned to the skip in circa 1965 still adorn the rooms,...

Stayed at the Ruskin Hotel for 1 night and was really pleased with the location in Bloomsbury which is a nice area of London. In comparison to the other Hotels in the area at the price we paid of £69 for a double room with English breakfast it was very good value. We received a warm welcome when we arrived...

The staff were helpful and the place is good value for area Breakfast was very basic. The room was freezing and difficult to sleep in although the staff provided an electric heater (which helped a little). Old and dingy generally.

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
