This was our fourth stay at the Arosfa. We particularly like the location with buses on the doorstep and tubes very close by. Easy to get anywhere and a really good place to stay. Yet again, Nick and his team are running an excellent Hotel. Already looking forward to our next visit.

From the get go booking my stay here was easy, I had fast and efficient email communication with Alison. My arrival was smooth (simple walk from the tube) and upon my arrival (after what felt like a million hours as I was coming from Australia) I was met by Teresaa and her husband. I had the option to leave my...

Comfortable and clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff, Great breakfast and wifi. Location is good, very close to tube stations. Small room but I suppose this is normally the case for London's accommodation.

The hotel was perfectly situated for the station and sight-seeing. The owners were absolutely charming and provided a gorgeous breakfast. Everything was perfect and we will always stay here on any future visits to London.

Well equipped, but the smallest hotel room I've ever seen. In this regard, it was very expensive considering the level of space & storage facilities. There was just enough room to hang sufficient clothes for a couple of days but any longer would have been impossible.

Situated in the quiet Bloomsbury part of London this hotel was perfect for an overnight stay to visit Shaftsbury Ave for a theatre performance. The family who owned the hotel were more than helpful. I would definitely stay again.

I've passed this hotel several times over the years but am so glad that I booked a night there! The welcome was lovely, the room was spotless and contained everything I needed. I had to leave early the next morning (before breakfast) so the proprietors very kindly made me a breakfast (sandwich, fruit, muffin, yoghurt) so that I could have...

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. It is a converted Georgian Terrace full of history & character (Once the residence of Sir John Everett Millais. ref. Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood) The Staff were friendly and helpful and keep the hotel very clean. We had a room on the 1st floor on the main road and with the window closed...

A beautiful little hotel. Clean, very good location. Wonderful food at breakfast. Amazing how a small hotel offer a breakfast of this quality and variety. I really recommend this hotel. And the staff are something special. Teresa and Luis are just what we need to relax...thank you.

Wonderful staff, very clean and nice rooms but small. Great location if you dont mind walking 15-20 min. We loved the location. I would like to see more ambition in regards to brekfast like freshly baked bred, better cheese (not dry around the edges) stronger coffee, because the information and pictures on the hotels website about the brekfast are not...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Arosfa Hotel is a refurbished 200-year old Georgian Town House in the heart of historic Bloomsbury district, the former home of the famous Pre-Raphaelite artist Sir John Everett Millais. The cool white garden squares and wide streets of Bloomsbury have been a pull to thinkers for centuries, and it sometimes seems like every second house has a blue plaque denoting that a great writer, scientist or philosopher once inhabited the building. It was in Bloomsbury that Karl Marx created communism, Virginia Woolf defined the twentieth century British novel, and Charles Darwin first conceived the theory of natural selection. The imposing bulk of the British Museum, home to seven millennia of human art and artefacts, dominates the area, and there are plenty of other academic institutions including Birkbeck College, the beautiful University of London Library, and RADA, London's grandest drama school. ... more   less
