The cookies are a nice touch. The hotel is in a convenient location. The rooms are average. The breakfast is poor. It is a poorly done British breakfast. If it is included in your room rate good luck. The eggs are one kind, scrambled and runny. The breakfast service is almost non-existent. I think the charge like 18 pounds. If...

We had previously stayed in this hotel when it was the Regency and looked forward to a return stay. Disappointing! Renovations provided modern décor (much like putting lipstick on a pig) but the hotel's comfort had markedly deteriorated. Good aspects included the excellent hotel location, the breakfast, and the staff that was friendly and tried to make things right but...

Initially only scalding hot water in room and told to run it for 15 mins to let it come cold as the pipes are apparently too close together. This had to happen each time we tried to use the tap. Later in the evening there was no hot water at all, only cold and we were told to wait till...

Booked for a stay in December,, only when I rang to confirm they said I didn't have a booking. so I booked another hotel, only to be charged the full amount as a no show a few days later. I called twice to try and resolve this and the reservation manager called me a liar, after going around in circles...

Our stay was very comfortable and breakfast had lots of variety. The restaurant staff were fairly attentive. We were not told the hotel had changed it's from The Regency so we're a little confused on arrival. We would stay there again.

This hotel had been taken over by the Doubletree by Hilton group 2 days earlier. Had I known I would not have booked it. The room was very small and lacked all the little things one expects from a 4* hotel. There was no bar available, no water in the bedroom and when asked for we were told that it...

It is a lovely central hotel, I was disappointed that there were refurbishments being done outside my room, it would have been nice to have been advised that this was happening as I booked my room in October and my visit was in December, thought as a courtesy they could have emailed and I would have changed my hotel.

I've just stayed here for the last five nights. From early morning until late evening the builders ( who are very mannerly at all times) are working. Drills.. Hammers ..Machinery etc. Then of course there is the fire alarm .. That was tested early on Sunday morning. Room service then forgot to do my room on Sunday..oops..best avoid.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
