I booked Rydges through a Travelzoo offer for a mini break in London. The hotel staff are very welcoming and our room on the third floor was spacious and comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast was included in our offer and was very good with plenty of choice. The bar is cosy and ideal for a night cap after a day...

Friendly and efficient bar staff, service with a smile and much charm. A small but cozy room with a good selection to choose from and a small selection of bar nibbles both hot and cold, Optional sofa seating also available just outside the bar room.

Excellent location Quick and easy check in. Polo bar is small but perfectly formed. We were a little disappointed to be on the lower ground floor but this quickly faded when we opened the door. The room was spotless and very large for London. Bed and bathroom lovely. There was a fair bit of Street noise and a lot of...

This is s great place to stay whilst visiting london, close to the Gloucester Road tube, the albert hall and Hyde park, and lots of nice little cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby. The hotel is very comfortable and quiet and has a comfy little bar. We breakfasted at one of the many little cafes along Gloucester Road rather than in...

A good hotel within walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall, the top museums and Hyde Park. Good clean rooms, friendly staff and a nice bar. Suggest staying out of the mini bar as the prices were rather high as was the bar. There's no parking so recommend using the underground car park at the Hilton which is a 5...

what do you expect from a hotel, well it starts when you walk in and the reception you get from the staff, which in this case was really good. then you go to your room, which was of adequate size, I like a nice comfy bed and also good pillows are important to me, again tick and tick. hotel rooms...

Lovely traditional hotel. Very easy to find from the tube and great for access totransport network. I went for business and my wife accompanied me for some leisure time around London. This hotel was great for both. Everybody ate in their restaurant "The Jam Cupboard" and loved the food and fantastic service. We're looking forward to staying again.

We had an enjoyable night here for an event nearby at The Royal Albert Hall. The Aussie manageress was very welcoming. The cosy bar here is really nice. Two mins walk from Gloucester Road station. Ten mins walk from Museums and The Royal Albert Hall. Fifteen mins walk from Knightsbridge and Harrods.

Booked this hotel through an offer on Travelzoo and we were extremely pleased. Excellent location and really close to Gloucester Road tube station which made getting around very easy. Also walking distance to Kensington Palace which was a bonus as we were visiting the Lady Di clothes exhibition. We upgraded to an Executive King room but not sure that we...

This is a lovely hotel, let down somewhat by the rooms We upgraded to an 'Executive' room, expecting to find it a bit more luxurious and spacious, but it turned out to be smaller than your average Travelodge room. It had no extra lounge area with a settee which we have come to expect. What was even more disappointing was...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
