During a sightseeing trip to London, we elected to spend a few days at the Crowne Plaza on Cromwell Road. Our decision was encouraged by a choice to stay at an IHG property, and while there are a few in the immediate area, the Crowne Plaza had, by far the best travelled reviews. Unlike the others however, the Crowne does...

Stayed 2 nights in a club room. Room lovely, with a lovely large kingsize bed. Modern décor and furniture. Bathroom and towels spotless. Just round the corner from the Tube station. Club lounge spacious, very modern and again spotless. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely evening drinks in the club lounge. Didn't have the canapes, as we were dining out....

Went to London for an anniversary celebration with my partner and chose to stay at Crowne Plaza Kensington. Hotel was very clean, smooth check in & check out, very friendly and professional Receptionist called Lilly. We've stayed on the 6th floor, the room was very warm, spacious and comfortable, bed was to die for (it's all about the King Size)...

Great locations for the museums, Hyde park, Albert Hall and the tube stop. We could nip back for a rest and got there to beat the queues. By afternoon, the Natural History and Science museums were heaving. We had a family suite, which was very nice. The staff were very pleasant and the club lounge was really nice. A few...

Stayed for two nights in a Standard room. Nice size, very clean. Echo all comments about location and friendly staff. Breakfast excellent. Note: if you are going around London for the day, your room may not get serviced until 5pm, so if you intend getting back earlier - ask. We didn't, and got back around 2.30 to find the room...

I usually like this property but the fact that I had to wait for 10 minutes to check in completely soured my experience this time. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and there was one person on check in. The two guys at the Concierge desk stood and watched - you would think that they might be trained to check...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
