Love no.11. It's a great location with quirky rooms and lots of character. The suites are lovely and it has a great homely feel in the winter. We used to stay at the Jumeirah hotels or the Dorchester but now this is the only place we stay in London! Small & private.

Have loved this place for 30 years now. May not be for everyone because its an old mansion so the halls/stairway might be dark for some, but we love it. Charming and warm and the staff has always been helpful. For my wife and my tastes, this place beats the same old stuffy impersonal hotel scene. Rooms are large for...

One of my favourites from more than thirty years. Expensive. Absolutely as it has to be: quite, friendly, traditional and cosy. Rooms and bathrooms are very confortable. Good location. Good restaurants in the surroundings. Bepi Olivieri

Loved it here even with the scaffolding for refurbishment going on. Fortunately we were there over the bank holiday weekend so there wasn't too much disruption. The staff are friendly and helpful, with a good sense of humour (especially the waiters). The room was very comfortable although on the small side. The extras such as the little box with lip...

A little find over near the Carlton Tower, now undergoing complete renovations. Some rooms already beautifully restored, some still to be. A couple of rooms have outdoor private entrances. There are also two rooms with separate inside entrances which adjoin a private little reception area, good for families or two couples. Lots of care taken in the restoration, which should...

Great place for couples or the single traveller. I stayed for one night only and had a wonderful room, unlike any other hotel room I've had lately; filled with antiques and more like a bedroom in an English country house. I loved the ambience of this place, the old world feel and calm atmosphere. And yet it's seconds away from...

A recent one-night stay proved to be fine though disappointingly average. True that a major renovation was ongoing and that the hotel was clad in scaffolding. I arrived at 10am and my room was initially not ready despite the hotel's half occupancy. Upon expressing some dismay, my early check-in was granted but without ungraciously being made to feel that I...

What a Lovley little hideaway the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us .the drinks were pricey but still a nice atmosphere for relaxing in London an out side seating area to have a cigarette .the breakfast I have to say was one of the best I've had in London .i would definitely stay here again.

Love No 11! Got upgraded to a suite. The view was of construction going on behind but this didn't detract from my stay. Lovely old fashioned bathroom with huge bath. Comfy bed. Fantastic location with access to private garden. Staff especially concierge bend over backwards to help. Delicious breakfast, excellent sausages.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
