Arrived here on a Thursday around 12:30 pm and there was a slow check in, however this was brightened up by receiving a free warm cookie. Our room was not ready so they held our bags so we can go and have lunch. Was also disappointed with paying £25 security deposit a night with no warning, which I still have...

This was our third stay at Double Tree and the second to Tower Hill. Great location for visiting London and lovely views at night from the Sky Lounge bar at the top. Staff very welcoming and helpful, my only criticism is that the check-in, check-out seemed to take longer than usual, but otherwise service very good as you would expect...

The hotel is in a great location next to the subway meaning you can get anywhere you like quickly. The staff were warm, friendly and made me feel very welcome. The room was clean, well finished with a nice comfy bed. The TV was an Apple Mac. It was tricky to figure out how to use it and could prove...

The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are also very good, the service is exceptional, I would recommend the hotel for anyone, families and business. The only let down was the breakfast which was not to the standard of the rest of the hotel and staff.

I booked this hotel for one night for site seeing of Tower of London and the local area. The hotel is walking distance from Tower Hill underground so an easy commute from Euston station on the underground. The hotel is very good and the staff very helpful and courteous. We arrived early at the hotel and wanted to leave our small...

Pros: The hotel was conveniently located for our trip. Has parking which was helpful. The concierge staff were very good and accommodating to our needs. Breakfast was very good and had a large variety of options. The bed was heavenly. Cons: We didn't receive the famous welcoming cookies. We tried to access the restaurant below and asked whether arrangements could...

Absolutely impressed by this little find! Rooms are exceptionally neat, modern and immaculate. An apple computer/tv to keep Mr 6 amused ("really mum, I don't need to go to the Tower of London. I can see it while I'm playing here!") and cookies on arrival. Beds are super comfy and the room is quiet. Beautiful fluffy robes and big towels...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
