My husband and I stayed at the Rembrandt for our 35th anniversary trip "across the pond." The hotel was lovely and the front desk staff were very helpful. But the biggest plus is the location. It is right across the street from the (free) Victoria and Albert Museum and one block away from The Tube underground station. There is a...

My favorite hotel when visiting London. Ideal location in central Kensington/Knightsbridge area. Easy access to communications, both busses and underground accross town. Rooms are well equipped and straff very service minded. Being met with at warm welcome and a big smile for breakfast makes my day! Superb breakfast by the way!

Location opposite the Victoria and Albert museum could not be better....Quiet, yet accessible to all. Room nice and large but are 4 star. Pillows, linens, bed all fine. Breakfast is plentiful. Staff is very friendly and nice. The cell phone provided for free is a real bonus. We would stay here again.

Stayed at the Rembrandt while spending a week in London. This is a very nice hotel right across the street from the Victoria and Albert Museum. It is also within a block of the Natural Histery and Science Museums. The Kensington South tube was just two short blocks away and lots of great restaurants and pubs. The rooms are very...

We booked and paid in advance for an executive double room. The room we were given was much smaller than any representations on the hotel's website. We were shown another room that was quite dark and again not as represented on the hotel website. We were offered the opportunity of moving to an upgraded room at extra cost that we...

Belatedly, I can only apologise that you were disappointed with the bedrooms allocated to you. We stayed at the Rembrandt two years ago and again this past month. We had a very good experience both stays. We splurged on a "club room" this year and the extra space was really nice, but definitely not essential. (We had a spacious bathroom with a whirlpool tub, a desk, a small sofa bed and two chairs, plus robes...

We had stayed at the Rembrandt before, so we knew what to expect. And we were not disappointed. Friendly staff everywhere - cleaning lady - restaurant - reception etc. We had booked a "basic" room, a small one with the V&A just across from our window. Nice bathroom and overall clean and pleasant. Really nice English breakfast - all included....

We had a very pleasant stay here. All the staff we met were extremely helpful and nice. Our room was on the 6th floor, I had asked for a quiet room as I'm recovering from a big surgery. The room would have been perfect, but the extractor fan in the bathroom made such a drone that sleep was impossible. The...

Dear Tonika R Thank you for reviewing The Rembrandt following your recent stay, which you describe as very pleasant. A special request had been made against your reservation to allocate a quiet room on a high floor, hence the reason why you were allocated a room on the top 6th floor overlooking Norther Terrace, as these are deemed to be...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
