The hotel was in a beautiful area of London. The communal areas of the hotel were very grand and very well presented. The bedroom was very small but had everything you need (except plump pillows!) and the bathroom was tiny but again- all facilities were there. The main issue was that the stunning and huge sash windows throughout the hotel...

This is my 2nd time to London and I must say Grange Strathmore is way above the other hotel I previously stayed. The check-in staff is friendly and efficient, and the concierge is always helpful. My room on the third floor isn't big, as expected for the price and location, but it is more than enough to provide me a...

Lovely hotel steeped in history! Check-in can sometimes be slow and the only lift is often unreliable. The breakfast menu is extensive but I would prefer this buffet style. I don't understand why you have to sign a form at breakfast when you have already had it confirmed at check in that breakfast is included. Good range of complimentary extras.

The location is great - 5 min walk from Gloucester Road station. The hotel is located on Queen's gate garden str. which is perfect because it's very quiet. Service is excellent - the staff was very polite -they asked if we were doing any sightseeing and offered to book tickets for us. Breaksfast was great. Rooms were cosy and clean...

My wife and I stayed there for 1 night as we were going to see the Circle du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall. As others have written it's in a lovely part of London, close to museums, shopping, parks and nice places to eat (especially South Kensington). Also the French Consulate. All within walking distance. It's in a historic...

The Grange Strathmore isn't the best hotel in the world and neither does it pretend to be, however located in one of the most exclusive postcodes in Britain, with an added dose of history, being formerly owned by the 14th Earl of Strathmore, Her Majesty's grandfather. it does make it rather unique. The rooms which face onto the gardens provide...

My husband and I have just returned from our Hotel stay last night. I would just like to say how disappointed we were with the hotel. The hotel is very drab, and needs a total rehaul. The first thing which became very apparent was just how small and cramped the room was. We had to squeeze round the bed. We...

Cool hotel. Used to belong to the Queen's grandparents. Convenient to the tube, as well as some museums, shops and restaurants. By American standards the room and bathroom were a tight fit, but everything was high quality. Overall fantastically polite, great staff... except one female manager who made some quite negative assumptions about us simply because we're from the States...

My husband and I spent three days here during a recent trip to Europe. The hotel itself is charming and the staff was extremely helpful. This is a London hotel-the room was quite small with a very tiny closet which made unpacking out of the question. It just wasn't a big deal. We grabbed things from the suitcase as needed...

First the room, when I read they were small, I didn't pay much attention; however, they are SMALL! You literally have to wait for your partner to pass to walk around the room and the shower is literally only big enough for one. (However the hotel has larger rooms and, if you get one, there's a lot to be happy...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
