Good location. Rooms are clean, but relatively cramped. Bathroom very cramped. Bed hard and pillows flat Staff are polite and Courteous. Check in and check out was slow. Breakfast was mediocre for £26.

Excellent location for the Royal Albert Hall and museums. Stayed on a upper floor so didnt experience the wifi issues of the lower floor. Room was small and the bathroom was tiny but adequate for a short stay. This is a non smoking hotel so couldn't fathom out why we could smell smoke each time we entered the room. Sky...

it's the second time we stayed here (first time was a few years ago). we were disappointed this time. absolutely tiny room, on a very noisy street side (the hotel is on a corner). breakfast was very average. i wouldn't go back here.

I've stayed at Grange hotels before and regard them as one of the better chain hotel groups and the strathmore is no exception. A lovely building just a few seconds walk from Gloucester Road and the tube makes this a great location. I had room 006 which is lower ground, off a very narrow corridor which is used by staff...

Old style hotel in Kensington, in the former residence of the Queen Mother's father ... according to the tv screen that greets you when you enter your room. + Service was excellent - The room was on the small side, which is typical for England/London but still leaves you wondering. + The room has "international power sockets", which is great...

We stayed overnight here to visit the Albert Hall and the Songs of Praise Big Sing. The hotel is ideal for visiting the Hall, Natural History Museum, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. The hotel exceeded our expectations as we had requested an upper room facing Queens Gate Gardens, which they did we were also given a foc late checkout and...

A very pleasant stay at this beautiful hotel. It is in a very convenient location in the centre of London just a few minutes from Gloucester Road tube. Check in was easy with very helpful staff and I was very pleased to have been upgraded from a single to double room. The room was fine for one but might have...

Stayed in this hotel solo on business, nice hotel; clean, staff friendly. The room I stayed in was on the top floor therefore the windows were too high to see out of, which I would have been very disappointed with had I not been staying for business. Room was small but cosy and clean however the pillows were very thin....

Lovely hotel in a great location and walking distance from Glocester Road tube station. Our room was quite small but for an overnight stay it was adequate. The only downside is that there is no air conditioning. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Didn't use any amenities so can't comment on those. Overall, pleasant enough to go back there...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
