Please beware: the so called superior rooms are in fact standard rooms as the helpfull hotel staff told us. After changing two unacceptable rooms though we were offered an upgrade in another hotel in London. It was o.k. although the "view" was the wall of another hotel building.

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 3 January 2017 via mobile

I had previously stayed in the South Kensington area at another hotel and paid double the price that I paid here, and I thought the staff, room quality and amenities at the Grange were just as nice as the more expensive place. The lobby was a little old school, but once we got up to our room, it was very...

If you are heading towards a west London Georgian building, housing a hotel of some repute and some provenance (Once owned by the Earl of Strathmore, the Queen Mothers father), you have very high expectations. And indeed, once we had sighted the delightful exterior, with its rising stone steps and black iron railings, we felt sure that we were about...

Stayed here for one night after watching The Who at the Albert Hall. Decent sized room, clean and comfortable. Breakfast nice enough, bar stays open late and is reasonably priced, location is excellent.

So it's London and everything costs a fortune. This is a nice, mid-range hotel in a nice part of London. The staff are very friendly and the reception, although tiny, works well. But for a average London hotel cost the room I was allocated was tiny. I was way up in the clouds (roof space) and the room was literally the...

Stayed for 2 nights, we were fortunate to be upgraded on arrival which was a lovely surprise. Room was modern, very clean, only thing was the TV was strangely positioned on the wall so you couldn't lie in bed and watch TV, but that's just a small thing. Staff very friendly. Continental Breakfast was included which had plenty of choice...

Look. I paid 74.00£ however I've stayed in lots of hotels over the last 20 years and I have to say this takes 1st prize for the smallest single room ever! It's a bit like a prison. Bed is hard and the shower is very very small. It's like a cot! The room Is clean and has all you need...

This quaint, historic hotel is the real refurbished home of Lord Strathmore. It does not appear to be a hotel at all from the exterior. The cozy, original bar is a nice area to lounge. Stairs are attractive but small brass elevator is the way to go. The staff is extremely attentive to our every need. Rooms are very small...

Although i had read many reviews on how amazing this hotel was once arriving I was still amazed by the kind staff who were always smiling and happy to help, the room service was amazing and yummy and the room was beautiful too. Breakfast, although I only had continental and not cooked it was still perfect and set me for...

We stayed here 2 years ago and we're equally pleased with the service and hospitality during our recent second stay. The staff was friendly and responsive. They offered us a larger room on checking in. The continental breakfast was plentiful and is included. This hotel is on a quiet side street in South Kensington, just 2 blocks from the Gloucester...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
