My husband and I stayed at the Mercure hotel in April for two nights. The reception staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and tidy and the breakfasts were amazing. There was as all you can eat buffet comprising cold meats, cooked bacon, sausage, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, cereals, yoghurt, tea, coffee, juices and toast. There was also a gluten free...

I selected this hotel because of its location. That was the right choose. Walking distance to Southwark and London Bridge tube stations; walking distance to Borough markets and restaurants and pubs! It's also close to grocery stores. The only thing missing is a refrigerator and microwave, as I usually have leftovers. It's a lovely hotel and the staff is the...

My husband and I had a great stay at the Mecure. We stayed 3 nights and had great service. The room was spacious and updated. The staff was great. We had the premiere room upgrade and had a restocked refrigerator every day. The location is great and near the Globe Theatre, the Shard, London Bridge, Millenium Bridge and other sites.

Stayed at the Mercure London Bridge while attending a conference in London. The room was comfortable and spacious, the bathroom spotless and the wifi free. Extremely fast check in and out via an unorthodox but very satisfying deskless system. The decor comfy and the breakfast impeccable. The staff courteous and efficient. Couldn't ask for more.

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast set us up for the day and we had easy access to the Globe, Tate Modern etc. The room was clean and the shower excellent. Access to the tube network was 5 minutes away.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

“Hotel was lovely, and very clean. My only critic, was that the bed was very hard and the room very warm. I changed the heat setting and opened the window to allow some fresh air in.”
