This is definitely my first hand choice when returning to London. Perfect location with walking distance to so many of the sights, yet so quiet we could sleep with our windows open. Excellent personal service, warm and caring British historical yet relaxed atmosphere. We simply couldn't ask for anything more. Cannot wait to go back.

This boutique hotel provided a wonderful stay for a weekend. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Admittedly it can be a little noisy outside on a Saturday evening but the atmosphere inside the hotel is relaxing and the rooms cosy and comfortable. If you have been to the Rookery, this is a similar experience. Well worth a try.

If you are visiting the West End this is an ideal boutique hotel. Just up the street from Ronnie Scotts jazz club and a stones throw from Shaftsbury Avenue. The rooms are comfortable (don't expect spacious) and breakfast is delivered to your room and can be served in the library. The is a very comfortable, traditionally furnished lounge with an...

Whilst the Staff we encountered @ this hotel were pleasant, the decor was ye olde world beautiful & the location ideal you still walk away a little disappointed. I get the impression that because the majority of guests that stay here are very wealthy the hotel has forgotten how to deliver value for money. It's not cheap, which is fine...

Stayed for a long weekend and it was a positive and enjoyable. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The location is amazing being close to Oxford Street (and the other famous shopping streets), theatres, tube stations and numerous places to eat. The rooms are characterful. Ours came with a four poster bed and a lovely deep bathtub. The fittings and...

Stayed here with my husband on a romantic overnight getaway to London to see a show. The location is fantastic. About 15 mins from selfridges (don't bother getting a taxi, traffic makes it a ridiculously long & expensive journey!!!). We were also 5 mins away from the theatre. All the reviews pretty much all say the same - great unique...

Staff are friendly and helpful, they provided me with a full length mirror as there wasn't one in the room. A bit of a must for the bridal party really. Also the room was a little dark. Only real downside, the room we had was at the front of the hotel and I could not sleep at all the night...

Not even friends who have lived in London for ever had heard of Hazlitts. But everything about this hotel is subtle and understated. But comes with lashings of style and elegance. Great location Soho is buzzing with atmosphere and attitude. For shoppers its a dream spitting distance to Oxford Street. There is no restaurant but who needs one when there...

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hazlitt's occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity. At Hazlitt’s our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the World’s great cities. Civilised surroundings; old fashioned hospitality; friendly efficient service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions. ... more   less
