We arrived too early and the receptionist explained that the room wasn't ready, which we expected. However, we could upgrade to a Superior class of room, our three night stay would cost an extra £90. Then she added that it would include breakfast and as breakfast was £12 each we upgraded at an actual cost of £18. The room was...

The hotel was simply amazing, great rooms and room service, friendly attendants at the concierge, and generally great food. I enjoyed the buffet restaurant a lot, also because I only tried the others once or twice. I would definitely recommend Copthorne Tara.

Have stayed here annually for several years now but this time was one of the best. A pleasant greeting on arrival, safe parking for cars and a very helpful concierge. My room on the 7th floor had been refurbished but the downside was that there are now no shelves or drawers, just hanging rails. Stayed over 4 nights so lived...

Very reasonable price considering this hotel is located in the centre of Kensington. Walking distance to the palace, gardens and Royal Albert Hall (10 min walk) Restaurants and shops very nearby. Staff very pleasant, room could do with a refurbishment but clean, buffet breakfast great value. Will return

We stayed here for 4 nights over Easter and really enjoyed it. Very good location in a nice area, tube station 5 min walk way. Staff were polite and very helpful. We had a problem with some noise in the room on the first night but they moved us to another room on the 10th floor without any questions. Rooms...

We booked this hotel as we needed somewhere with parking on site with easy access to the M4 so The Copthorne Tara met our requirements very well. We booked 2 club rooms and were on floor 10 which was quiet and not noisy at all. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with fridge, hairdryer, safe and kettle. The price included...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
