Fantastic hotel only a few minutes away from the Royal Albert Hall, great rooms extremely comfortable beds, fantastic choice of spirits in the 'rock star' bar and a breakfast to die for. An amazing place to stay.

Just 5 minutes walk to the Albert Hall. We had dinner beforehand and stayed overnight after the concert. The set dinner menu was good for the price and our room was cosy. The dinner service was a little slow but adequate. However, when we came back after the concert, we were unable to sit down and have a drink before...

We loved our room (free upgrade to deluxe from classic double, so we had more room and furniture), and reception staff were very friendly and attentive, definitely more than I expected for the price. The location was convenient for us, only a 10-minute walk from Gloucester Road or South Kensington stops off the line from Heathrow, and it was right...

This a lovely, boutique hotel. Rooms are quite small but adequate. TV in room was little more than monitor size. Bathroom a tad bit awkward but very clean. Room 108 was what I had which is directly over the bar. A Friday evening party in the bar closed both the bar and the drawing room even to hotel guests. Afternoon...

While I understand that hotels are given five stars for specific reasons, it is hard to justify why such an accolade is given to the Gore. It has an air of past gentility which can be seen in the public rooms. However, comfort falls very far short when it comes to the bedrooms. We spent two nights in one room...

I stayed twice, one night each. The hotel looks great and without a question the service was good. The breakfast was excellent with delicious croissants amongst other high quality, tasty and healthy options. The design is a welcome change from the usual modern design and I like it. However, the floors are wooden and I could hear my upstairs neighbours...

A hotel of character, staff who could not do enough for you,Trevor in particular was very helpful. We were a demanding group because of our numbers but the staff were able to cope with anything. Very highly recommended.

In most respects this is a great place to spend a night- very convenient for the Royal Albert Hall but it all depends on what is important to you. We really missed not having any tea/coffee facilities in the room. Am I too picky? Yes, I accept that but to then be asked for £5 for a cup of tea...

Really lovely hotel with exceptional staff. The rooms whilst on the small side were great...with perhaps the exception of the carpet which could do with an upgrade! Despite that I would recommend this hotel as a lovely place to stay.

The Gore Hotel is a small boutique hotel situated in a Georgian Town House. It is only a block away from the Royal Albert Hall which is why we selected it. It is also close to Kensington Gardens where we enjoyed a nice fall afternoon. The building is lovely with lots of personality. The appointments are all a period fit...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
