In general this hotel has an outdated and run down feel. It is in desperate need of renovation both in the main foyer, hallways and rooms themselves. The room I stayed in was quite small (smaller than expected), the drain for the shower (which is in the bath tub) was blocked and took a long time to empty meaning taking...

Excellent location and perfect room for solo traveler, I felt had all the comforts I needed at a very reasonable price. The hotel is on busy Strand area so it's noisy, but with the wooden shutters closed at night I had no trouble sleeping. I loved being able to walk to so many spots, also loved the Victoria Embankment Gardens...

DO NOT stay in room 450 the building work that wakes you up is unbelievable. This room should not be rented out by the manager at the moment. Also at other times be aware this room has a connecting door. You hear a stranger in the bath and on the toilet! Loudly! However the rest of the hotel is a...

Cons: Paper thin walls/doors, noisy, 15+ min wait at check-in, incredibly slow elevators, small rooms, overpriced for value. I could hear every door close, footstep and word spoken in the hall to go along with an incessant tapping noise in a maintenance closet next to my room. Pros: location (8 min walk to tube), friendly/helpful doormen.

My wife and I booked what was described as a cosy double room. I should have remembered estate agent language from years ago when describing houses for cosy meant really small. It was only possible to get out of bed on one side - it felt more like a bunk bed. The room was just so small, too small for...

The Strand Palace was booked because of it's location and it's proximity to the theatres. We took advantage of early check-in at 10.00am for £20 which allowed us to make the most of our time in London. The room was small but perfectly adequate for a 1 night stay, with a good quality shower. The beds however were hard and...

I found it quite cheap for a 4 stars hotel and I soon found why... my room was tiny (no, really tiny ! n.438 btw). First problem and easy to solve: there is no indication of the direction of the room (for this number series at least) at the outlet of the main lifts... for 2 or 3 times I...
