We stayed at the Academy Apr 5 and 6 2013. Good location near the BM, nearest tube station was on an ok line. When checking in, you sit in chairs in the front room, with the clerk sitting behind a desk, and you are made to feel rather like you are applying for a job. I would rather feel like...

This is a fairly small, rather smart hotel in a convenient location near the British Museum. The breakfast is good, and the room comfortable. The only drawback for us; the room was in a semi basement, so a bit gloomy. We would definitely use it again, though.

A relatively late booking, but we were so pleased with our stay at The Academy. Perfect location to walk to all of central London. A warm welcome, very comfy room / bed / bathroom etc. and exceeded expectation if I'm honest. We didn't use the bar or the restaurant during our stay, but the garden looked lovely and I'm sure...

We stayed here on Saturday night as we were visiting London to see a show, i booked here as it was an affordable price of £145 for the 2 of us. The hotel is near Goodge Street tube station. We struggled to find the street when we arrived but once you find it, it is easy to walk to and...

Stayed in large family suite, which had lots of room and worked out at a reasonable price for the four of us. Helpful friendly staff. Really lovely breakfast, if a little pricey. The only complaint is it is a bit pokey, which can attributed to the fact it is made from 5 terraced houses knocked together.

A special weekend to London to see a show, pre-booked this hotel and received 12% discount on room and breakfast rate. I think the downside of the discount is we probably got the worse room in the building. The shower cubicle was smelly and the shower didn't work properly, the sink was so small in the bathroom you could barely...

I stayed for a couple of nights last November(room 58) having booked through one of the hotel websites which indicated that the price I was paying was a 60% discount to rack rates. It was still more fractionally more expensive than the chic modern West End hotel where I had spent the previous week. The Academy website indicates a level...

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for your feedback with regards to your stay with us last year in November. I was sorry to read that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. I recently met with a small group at the Academy Hotel for a 2-day conference. We met in a beautiful lounge with a view to the garden. The seating was comfortable and ideal for the type of meeting, which emphasised conversations in small groups. The hotel provided a good lunch both days with coffee and tea on breaks. The setting...

Stayed here on business with a bunch of colleagues attending a meeting nearby. The location is good, being quite central but in a quiet and rather impressive part of town.
