This is a modest hotel, just a little shabby, with awkward staircases but clean and adequate rooms and courteous, helpful staff. Breakfast was very good. The location, five minutes' walk from the British Museum, is ideal. There is wireless service in the hotel, but the password system is ridiculously clumsy. Great cafes just around the corner on Store Street.

The Academy is nothing special but fit my purpose. The room was small, clean and the bed was comfortable. Their was a desk where I could work, so again for me perfect. The continental breakfast was also sufficient for me. The best part was the staff, absolutely great.

I recently spent 8 nights in this hotel. It's convenient to my work, it's not as pricey as other hotels in the area, and the location is good - close to restaurants, cafes etc. However when it comes to service, I found this place poor on so many levels. And when it comes to technology, well I just couldn't believe...

Stayed at this hotel as part of my trip to London to visit friends. Highlights: - 24hr access - Clean room - Reasonable value for money - Close to Goodge Street underground station I found the advertised bar was oftenly dead. Also the price for a continental breakfast was a bit steep at £13, especially when there is a much...

We received a Groupon for afternoon as a gift, I tried to book several dates that were all fully booked until I managed to get a Sunday sitting at midday. The lobby of the hotel is nice but very small, after a short wait we were shown down to the very tired looking dining area. We were the only people...

Dear Guest, Due to the successful Groupon deal we are often fully booked when guests try to book their visit. As we have selected time slots, I'm sorry to hear that there was no ambiance until the additional tables arrived. It is a shame that you did found the food to be disappointing as we do not receive many issues...

Dear Guest, Many thanks for your review. As a townhouse a hotel, our rooms and en-suites vary in size and location within the hotel. it is unusual to hear that our Hypnos beds are uncomfortable, but do understand that beds are to an individuals liking. It is also nice to hear that both the staff and the breakfast we excellent....

We were disappointed in the hotel after reading the reviews. The room was a bit rundown (peeling paint and wallpaper, dust on molding). The front desk also was less helpful than we expected. We asked for a suggestion as to where to eat when we arrived and didn't get anything. Our suite was also supposed to have a "separate room"...

Booked an afternoon tea here for me and my daughter via Groupon, we arrived early for our afternoon tea but this wasn't a problem, staff made us feel very welcome. Hotel was very quiet, staff were very attentive and service was excellent . I would definitely go back again . Excellent value for money .

The hotel is based in a old townhouse, meaning that there is no lift, the floors creak and sink into the middle of the rooms, and the noise proofing isn't brilliant. This gave a very ramshackle appearance to the whole property in places. The decor was very dated, the bathroom was worn with a cracked tile and barely space to...
