I had a gin tasting afternoon tea for mothers day. Our waitress, a young Polish girl could not be faulted. She was attentive without being intrusive.Very informative and approachable. She spent time with us when needed but did not over do it. Made our day.

We chose this hotel because of its location. We will return because of its staff. The hotel is on Drury Lane and is convenient to both Covent Garden and the west end theaters. All are within comfortable walking distance and some are within a few steps or the hotel. The hotel design shows its age, with steps required to check...

About Hotel's Favourite Review

Dear Jeffrey P, Thank you very much for your review and rating. We are pleased you enjoyed our central location. The hotel was built in 1908 and is a grand II protected building. There are wonderfully wide corridors and some do have steps along the way. The team are always available to assist with carrying items to rooms if required....

Today I arrived at the Waldorf Hilton. The Waldorf name is a proud one and has a cachet for quality. Unfortunately I did not have a quality experience. Having checked in I was shown my room. It had an obvious air conditioning fault that would prevent sleep and it was opposite the lift and thus would likely be noisy. The...

I spent the night here with my partner and found the Waldorf to be wonderful. Gorgeous art-deco decor, fabulously friendly staff and delicious food. Even the house wine was excellent. Breakfast buffet was superb - everything you could possibly ask for. Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was super comfy.

On arrival staff were very welcoming. The first course arrived piping hot and was very enjoyable. When the second course arrived on hot plates we were dissapointed the vegetable order had been forgotten. After a considerable wait and a reminder to the waiter they appeared but we had been waiting so long the food was luke warm and had to...

You can not go wrong with this hotel. The location is great for tourists and particularly theatre-goers. The staff is superb and always go beyond the call of duty. The rooms are lovely having been refurbished over the last few years, and very well-appointed. The Waldorf is great value, particularly for London - I highly recommend.

Stayed for one night in a basic room whilst going to a west end show. On arrival you were made to feel very welcome from the door man and reception. This standard continued throughout our stay. Reception was very busy but efficient. Despite checking in after the published time our room was still being cleaned. This was initially very disappointing...

Dear Captain587, Thank you for your review of your theatre break. I am very pleased to read that the team made you feel welcome on arrival and that we were offered a complimentary drink as your room was not ready at 3.00pm. I was pleased to read that the rest of your stay was pleasant. We look forward to welcoming...

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times previously, and had problems each time. I thought I'd give it another go though, and am so pleased I did! This stay was almost perfect. The welcome I received at check-in was warm, welcoming and friendly. The receptionist acknowledged my Hilton Honors status, and went through some of the benefits with...

I stayed on the 7th floor of the hotel and hear a mouse in the middle of the night. Then I saw the mouse run from under my bed to te bathroom. I had to get moved in the middle of the night and it completely ruined my next day since I was tired the next day.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighbourhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
