For £139, which was advertised rate for room, one expects a certain standard that was not met by Sidney Hotel. Tiny shabby room, with no proper windows, or light, and miniscule en suite. The two other rooms I was shown were no better. This is an area well stocked with hotels and far better quality can be found elsewhere.

I booked this hotel in August 2009 for New Years Eve. We were looking forward to experiencing New Years Eve in London in what looked to be a nice hotel. Unfortunately we never got to experience the Sidney hotel because when we arrived to check in we were told that the heating in our allocated room was not working so... More

This is not a 4-star hotel! 3 at a pinch. Very basic. Friendly staff. The room was the smallest room I have ever seen with no space to unpack a large suitcase. Minute but functional bathroom. Beware of the bedspreads ... the one adorning the bed hadn't been washed in weeks which for a "4-star" hotel was a disgrace. It... More

The room is much smaller than I expected, and so is the bathroom. It is difficult to move around in the room, and hardly a vacant space for my luggage. The room wall is very thin that you can clearly hear conversations from streets and other rooms. My room, however, is clean and new. The breakfast is complimentary and there... More

If you want to use the Internet in the hotel, negotiate fees before you commit. Clean, compact rooms. Very rude service. More about the Internet charges. In many hotels in the neighbourhood, internet is free. From the Sidney Hotel website, I thought it would be here too. No. Slow, unreliable, and very expensive (£2.75, for an “hour”, but they did... After reading some of the reviews on this site I was really anxious and visited the hotel whilst working in London. It looked perfectly clean and I asked to see one of the rooms, which was no problem to the staff. When we arrived we were given a family room which was very clean, plenty big enough for the three... Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
