My partner and I have just returned from a weekend break in London and stayed in the Avni. The accommodation was nice, clean and comfortable. The rooms are basic with everything you need; bed, tea and coffee, hairdryer, TV, safe and en suite. I wouldn't describe the rooms as "luxury" or "special" but are perfectly adequate for your base to...

This is a cheap hotel, so don't expect much. room was clean and tidy, a few marks on the floor, no big deal, The shower was very small and not powerfull. The Breakfast was a joke...down in the basement, a very hot room with a number of tables...all dirty! no cutlery, the buffet was basically white bread...one type...processed cheese...and jams....

We have just returned from this hotel. It is advertised as a 4 star hotel well I am doubtful. On a plus side it is very central and a short walk to Gloucester Road tube station. The room was clean and obviously recently refurbished but very compact. The shower was tiny. The reception was very sparse and the pictures were...

Having turned down the room in the basement, which was horrible, we were reluctantly given a recently refurbished room on the 4th floor, facing to the back overlooking the mews. Very quiet considering the surroundings. The room and the minute shower were clean and practical. Contrary to reports of other customers our 2 bedside lamps had functioning bulbs, but unfortunately...

I found a good deal with Avni so was satisfied with the quality, but had I paid more I may have been disappointed. Positives: We arrived on Christmas day and they allowed us to check in several hours early with no charge, which was much appreciated after a 24-hour flight. I had also emailed in advance to ask about restaurants...

We stopped at the Avni for one night whilst attending a business meeting in the city. It is your typical London, terraced hotel. To cut to the chase, this hotel is brilliant value for money, it's in beautiful Kensington, the rooms are more than suitable with brand new facilities. There are much, MUCH worse hotels in the same area and...

Recently stayed at the Avni, Kensington while on a three night break to London. Only a 5 minute walk from the nearest tube station and about a 15 minute walk from the Science Museum and the V&A. Also an ideal location to access Earls Court where we attended the Military Tattoo. Arrived at the Hotel early afternoon, Polite receptionist, quick...

On arriving at the hotel, there was no hello, good evening or any form of greeting from the gentleman on reception. I stated that I was checking in and was told that I needed my booking confirmation printed and photo ID, unfortunately I did not have the reference so had to complete paperwork. The person I was travelling with had...

Stayed two nights here, will not be back. We were first allocated a small room at the back of the hotel but requested a move as it was behind the lift shaft. Got moved to another small room at the front which didn't have double glazing so lots of road noise. The shower was a joke, you couldn't move the...

The room we had was not too big, but just perfectly sized for a city-trip. Recently refurbished, small, but clean bathroom. our room was situated at the back, so very quiet. Overall: good and clean! Very well recommended for a city trip. We had breakfast around the corner, not at the hotel. 5 min. walk from a tube station.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
