My husband and I stayed here for a few days at the end of last year. We had no problems with our entire trip--in fact, the hotel was so quiet that we kept wondering if we were the only people there! Our room wasn't quite ready when we got there (almost two hours before check-in) but the front desk was...

We will be in London in June prior to catching a cruise. We wanted a 3 or 4 star hotel and the only definite requirement was that it be air conditioned. Our travel agent did the foot work, came up with several options and we selected the Avni. Everything that the hotel puts out states that the rooms are air...

The apartment is located in Kensington in a quiet street, only 3 minutes walk from the underground. This is its best point. Rooms are very clean, unfortunately they are not so beautiful. The windows are very old and the shower worked not properly. Breakfast was ok, but don't expect much.

I booked a twin room in this hotel through lastminute.com 4 weeks ago only to be given a double with a camp bed stuck up. They had already taken my money for the three nights, otherwise I would have been out of there. When I pointed out the fact that I had asked for a twin they said that it...

Small hotel with a small reception area. The rooms and the bathroom are rather small. It`s hard to find a space to open your suitcase. There is no fridge, and no air conditioner, only a small fan. The complimentary breakfast is very crowded, you have to wait a long time to seat and eat the simple food. The only good...

I stayed here with my daughter and although it's not luxurious it is an excellent choice of hotel for visitors to London being very good value and in a great location between Earl's Court and Gloucester Road tube stations. Our bedroom and bathroom were well-equipped and clean, the beds were very comfortable with cotton bedding and there were plenty of...

Rooms are really small, but clean. Bathrooms are tiny, even if it's quite difficult to move inside..it's not really silent, cause room walls are thin. They should fix a maximum volume on tv. Breakfast is acceptable. No place for storage at all, so avoid this hotel if you are going to stay in london for some days. In the room..fits...

The hotel is really good, I stayed in a Standard double room which was very nice and extremely clean, the bathroom was spotless and the towels were really big. The bed was very comfy and the pillows were good too. There was a kettle in the room for making tea and coffee and also a hairdryer. Our room was at...

My partner and I stayed at the Avni for two nights while in London catching up with my brother and visiting the sights. I arrived first and was quite pleasantly suprised by the size of our room on the the first floor. It was a bit shabby in places but clean and more spacious than most other London hotel rooms...

Stayed one night in February 2012. Room was clean. No radiator which was strange but so hot we had to have the windows open - which meant noisy with road and air traffic. Bathroom small but clean and upto date with pleanty of towels. Luggage could be left. Value good at £99 for three people in Kensington. Downside was the...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
