Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel was clean and tidy. Room the same. Excellent reception from “Bobby” who could not have been more helpful. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Perfect location for our night out at Boisdale’s. One slight issue with shower room door in room 15…it doesn’t close and needs fixing. However, still excellent.

The is a good location from a transport into the hotel as well as transport into London and the O2 arena. We got an Uber to the O2 and had to get a black cab back as there were no Ubers available. About 1 hrs 30 minutes to Heathrow on a Monday morning as well.

Stayed here over night because me and my daughter was attending the Capital jingle bell ball. Parking is available at the hotel no need to book for 12.50 for 24 hours great value. After a 5 hour drive we arrived at the hotel we were able to check in earlier than the 3 o’clock check in time which was perfect. Greeted by a lovely gentleman on reception who was super helpful with directions and instructions of getting to the O2 for our concert. Directions and instructions on what train and tube to get which was super helpful. Over land train 5 minutes walk from hotel. Room was a twin room which was lovely and clean not massive but everything you needed. Tea and coffee available in rooms and even shower gel and body wash in the shower. Would definitely stay here again. Perfect for a visit to Canary Wharf shopping centre bars and restaurants and only a 10 minute walk away. Brilliant location for the O2 arena.

The lad on reception was the rudest person ! A lady was asking about having no heating in her room ! He said all the rooms are the same. We checked in and I asked if all the rooms are without heating. He proceeded to tell me he has been at work 16 hours. I said I was asking about the heating and he said I was being rude and he is not going to tell me! This has to be the worst employee of the century!!!!

Dear ibis Guest, This is certainly not what we expect to read with regards to welcome nor availability of staff and my sincere apologies and thank you for bringing to our attention for immediate follow up as this is not what you should expect in any of our hotels. Feedback is important in order to look at areas of improvement and it is disappointing to read as this does not reflect our normal standards of service nor the usual positive feedback we receive on staff. Once again, my sincere apologies. Kind regards, Brian

This is a good value option for London. Quite a bit cheaper than city centre hotels and a short walk from the DLR and Elizabeth line and the cable car to the dome and river taxi. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's fine for a budget hotel. The previous time that I stayed here the breakfast was served in the plusher Novotel that's next door. This time it was in the Ibis. Breakfast was OK.

Spent 3 nights here as a base to attend concerts. At this price point £270 a night and location this was very poor. The underpass to the train was like something out of a zombie movie. Surly staff, with some of them more interested in their mobile phones, rooms which were not clean with long black hairs covering the shower room and our bedroom was never cleaned, as they alway maintained to turn up to do this when we were in the room.

Staff was more than kind and helped me as I had lost my luggage and I was without many of my things. They were very willing to help me in anyway and everyday checked with me to see how I was doing, helped me place calls to the airlines, explained public transportation, shopping, etc. Location to ExCel was very good. Breakfast was very good as well. Rooms were clean however the air-conditioning could not kep up with the warm temperatures.

My daughter and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Ibis Docklands. The hotel is well placed for a visit to the O2, and is well connected to the city centre via the DLR. What made our stay particularly good was the amazing customer service we received from Brian, the manager. His help and advice, especially when it came to travel on the DLR and underground was invaluable for travellers unfamiliar with London’s tube and train networks. Indeed, Brian went out of his way to find the quickest and safest route for two female travellers to get in and out of the city and O2 area, especially after an evening event. I highly recommend this hotel if you are attending an event at the O2 arena, and I am sure that Brian will make you feel very welcome.
