Detailed Reviews
We were really impressed with this hotel. The room (classic studio) was newly renovated and so was spotlessly clean with brand new appliances. It was a good size and the kitchenette was a bonus: lovely to be able to make drinks and snacks, and well equipped so that it would have been easy to cook meals if we'd chosen to. I asked for a quiet room and got a room at the back which was wonderfully silent. The blackout curtains were also appreciated, and the bed was very comfortable.
It's brilliantly located: just a minute's walk from the tube (for the Piccadilly and Central lines), with lots of bus stops nearby too. There's a Waitrose across the road for supplies and a very good Pizza Express nextdoor too.
There were just a few small things that could make it even better: a shelf in the bathroom, a table and chairs to make eating easier, and a teapot (or more/larger mugs) in the kitchen.
We got a good price on the room, making it extremely good value for money, and will definitely return here in future.

Hi Mel, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! I am glad you had a pleasant stay with us and that you particularly liked our newly renovated rooms. I am glad you liked the size as well as the kitchenette, the quietness and the blackout curtains of the room. You also mentioned our central location close to the tube, bus stations, the supermarkets and restaurants. I am glad this impacted your stay in such a positive way! Your comments on adding a shelf to the bathroom, a table and chairs as well as a teapot (or larger mugs) in the kitchen has been forwarded to our Property Manager for review. I am glad you are thinking of us for your future trips to London and look forward to welcome you back! Kind regards, Selma Tran-Van / Front Office Manager

I stayed for 2 nights this week but not consecutively, so basing my comments on 2 separate stays close together.
The location is about a 1 min walk from Holborn tube station to easy to get around easily- walking, public transport, uber etc all easy from here and the hotel is easy to find. The lobby is light and airy one visit I arrived early and was offered an earlier check in as the room was ready- I would have been happy enough to drop my bags off and return later. Both stays the staff at reception we helpful and polite on check in and check out.
The 2 rooms I stayed in were bigger than I expected (Studio Apartment), clean, modern and bigger than the pictures looked. Bathroom was great with a bathtub and shower, and toiletries. The kitchen was well equipped and there's a Waitrose across the road and Sainbury's a minute's walk away if you need supplies.
Comfortable bed and linen and good sleep was had.
Wifi was quick, lots of power points in the room, aircon worked really well. Free coffee and tea in the lobby is a nice touch as well.
Will definitely stay again.

It was our 25th wedding anniversary and I visited for the first time from Canada. We were staying a week, and I wanted a hotel room that wasn't tiny with a kitchenette. It was clean, functional, spacious and convenient. It's a stone's throw away from a tube stop (that goes directly to Heathrow) and had a wonderful pub nearby (The Ship's Tavern) that served an excellent Sunday roast. It was reasonably priced for London but here's a tip: book direct and keep checking the rates as they fluctuated and was able to reserve for a cheaper rate as we got closer to the date.

Here for a few days. On the first night, the toilet wouldn’t clear which caused major issues until staff were ready to address the problem after 8am.in the morning. I’m temporarily disabled.. I was told there is a disabled toilet at reception which I could use in an emergency. Reception is almost two flights of stairs from the accessible rooms. There is telephone contact through the night but no one answered the phone. On the second day, the heating broke down. It was 6 degrees outside. It took half an hour for staff to send up maintenance who kept insisting that the heating had gone off because we had heated the room to the temperature set on the control panel. We still have no central heating. We have a plug in heater instead now. Fortunately, outside temperature has risen! Surprisingly, a knock at the door yesterday brought a dog, and staff requested access for the dog as part of “pest control”! Is this real?? And at £250 a night in 2024 in the Uk capital!!???

Dear Anne, Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and we are deeply sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the issues you faced, particularly with the toilet and heating, which should never have occurred. Ensuring our guests' comfort and well-being is always our top priority, and we regret falling short in this instance. Regarding your concern about the pest control visit, please allow us to clarify. Our quarterly pest control is a mandatory health and safety procedure advertised in public areas. It is conducted to maintain the highest hygiene standards for all guests and staff. We understand how this might have come as a surprise, and we regret any discomfort caused. We are also saddened to learn that the room temperature setup, designed as part of our sustainability efforts, did not provide the level of comfort you expected. While we aim to balance environmental responsibility with guest comfort, your feedback highlights the need for further adjustments. We take your comments seriously and will review our processes to ensure better handling of such situations in the future. Please feel free to reach out directly if you’d like to discuss your experience further. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide a stay that exceeds your expectations. Kind regards Dalibor Soldo Assistant Residence Manager

Let start with some positives:-
Great location, very close to tube station, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and within walking distance of many tourist attractions.
The area is very safe with both foot and vehicle traffic, travelling as a solo female I never felt unsafe at any time of the day or early evening.
The room was well appointed with all you needed in a well set up mini kitchen for cooking some meals, although there was occasionally a cooking smell in the hallways when other guests were cooking something very strong.
The main areas, including a fantastic (app. required) laundry were always clean and tidy. There is a seating area adjacent to reception where you can make yourself a drink and relax.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom mid grade with hot water (more about that later)
Now to the negatives:-
There were two issues whilst I was staying here, one was no hot water for one weekend and no wifi for another weekend. Whilst these issues do occur I'm sure at other hotels from time to time the communication was poor around these issues, with staff not able to answer when these issues would be resolved. After quite a few to and fro's the reception staff finally found another hotel for me for one night so at least I could have a shower.
Before I checked out I took the oppurtunity to sit down with Marco, the front officer manager to provide him with my constructive feedback about my stay and the issues including communication. Marco thanked me for taking the time to speak to him, and hopefully my feedback will assist management in future if issues like this arise again.
Although these issues did arise and detracted from my overall happiness with the stay I would be happy to stay here again in future as long as issues identified are dealt with promptly and communication has improved.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing Citadines Holborn as your accommodation during your holiday in London. We are happy to read that you have enjoyed the location at Citadines Holborn. Nevertheless, unfortunately, I believe that during your last stay you have been affected by the no hot water which happened last year as well as no wifi. Unfortunately it was a circumstance out of our control. I am happy to share that Citadines Holborn is going to be under renovation this year. We hope to welcome you back, hence you will see the improvements of our rooms. Once again, thank you for staying with us. Warm Regards, The Management.

Stayed here once before on a business trip and booked it again with the family due to the location and having an apartment style with a separate bedroom for the adults (why more hotels don’t offer this setup for traveling families is beyond me). For those reason it’s a pretty good hotel. However, it is a bit dated and the rooms aren’t that clean. The bathroom had mold all over the tile grout, the doors are all pretty dirty, and one of the blankets on the bed had stains on them. Also, the hotel is under construction which means that we got woken up by 7:30 or 8am with drilling noises (we were on the 1st floor so right above the construction site, which sucks for us but probably not so bad for the rest of the hotel), and it also meant the regular breakfast wasn’t available, instead it was a grab and go that wan’t worth the price (I remember the breakfast being really good the last time I was here). If you have a family it may still be worth it for the apartment style, but I wish I stayed elsewhere.

Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! I am glad you enjoyed the One Bedroom Apartment layout as well as our central and well-connected location. I am sad to hear that the room in itself had cleanliness issues, please rest assured that your comments have been forwarded to our property manager and our Housekeeping team has been dispatched to the room to make sure this does not happen again. As you mentioned, we started the full refurbishment of our property and I am sad to hear that your stay was disturbed by the noise coming from it. Your comments on the breakfast Grab and Go has been noted and I thank you for your feedback as it helps us improve our product and service. I hope you will give us another chance by staying in one of our newly renovated rooms in the future! Kind regards, Selma Tran-Van / Front Office Manager

Me and my Husband booked to stay here for our anniversary weekend (we booked a studio). Overall we was very pleased with our room. The studio was very spacious, with alot of lighting including natural light. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils such as plates, cups, glasses, pots etc.
The bathroom had a bathtub with a standing shower which had great water pressure. And the air-conditioning did its job throughout the night. The location was excellent.
Our only complaint was the check in and check out times which was why we gave it a 4* instead of a 5*. The check in time was 3pm while the check out time was 11am. As far as we were made aware, there wasn't an option for us to pay to extend the check out time which meant we couldn't fully enjoy our night in London.

A family stay that we have excellent memories of… Perfect hotel location! A stone's throw from Holborn metro and 2 stops from St Pancras Station (Eurostar). Many must-see places accessible on foot or by metro. Clean residence with sober and careful decoration, inspiring calm, with a very warm welcome, clean and well-designed apartments, fresh and varied breakfast (sweet/savory) with a TB mention for the waffles prepared to order by adorable staff . Secure access day and night using the room card given on arrival: only guests can enter the residence. We recommend Citadines Holborn-Covent Garden and will definitely return. Thank you to the director Daniela and her entire team for their kindness and involvement towards their customers 🙏

There appears to be a change in management and staff from my stay in 2022 and I can say its a definate improvement.
This place is perfect for those staying for short or long term where you want some comforts of home like being able to cook in your room and do some washing (shared laundrette on site).
The staff whilst some are seeming quite new are all lovely and go out of there way to provide you with assistance and answer any questions you have.
As usual this place offers good transport links and close to supermarkets, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
If there was one small negative it would be the shower over the bath being very close to the wall and not being able to fully get wet without being so close to the wall, hopefully this may be rectified with the current renovations.
All in all a fantastic stay.
Sorry to hear that Marco has moved on but its heartening to see that Daniela Codreanu is now General Manager here as Daniela ran a fine establishment at Citadines Barbican where I was moved to last year when this place was without hot water. I can see she has worked hard to get this property to the same standard as Barbican.

I have just stayed at this apart/hotel and really enjoyed the experience. I would highly recommend it whether you are in London for a weekend or you are there for longer as a holiday or working. We had booked a deluxe room but because these were being refurbished we were upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment, which was spotless and very well equipped. Although these too are being refurbished at the end of the summer, we were delighted with ours, a real home from home with everything you could need. The staff on reception were all excellent and gave a wonderful 'Service with a Smile'.

Probably have to check directly with the hotel.
Telephone them on 020 7395 8800
They were really helpful when we said we needed two separate sofa beds. Our apartment was 429 if you can ask for that apartment so you get the double bed and two single sofa beds (they are pushed together but plenty of space to separate them)
