We stayed at the Ibis in Greenwich for 1 night. The rooms are a good standard, clean and comfortable. It's a simple and fuss free hotel in a good location. It's right next to café rouge, which does excellent breakfasts and adjacent to several other restaurants and shops. As a forewarning I'd say beware of the hotel staff trying to...

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay outside of Central London, but still near enough to reach it within twenty minutes to a half-hour, the Hotel Ibis is the place for you. The Greenwich Station (overground train) is a five-minute or less walk and the DLR station is also close by. Greenwich Park and all the...

We had 2 adjacent rooms as a family (not interconnected). Both were very small but clean and functional. Check-in was done on a mobile app of the hotel employee and fast. The hotel is linked to cafe rouge next door but given the choice of restaurants in the area we decided to have breakfast elsewhere. Good location (100m to the...

We arranged our stay at Ibis Greenwich so that we could meet family and sightsee without driving. The hotel is situated at the heart of Greenwich. The Cutty Sark could be seen from our window. The museums, shops, river and parks are literally a few minutes easy walk away. The hotel was good, staff friendly and the bed comfy. The...

My son and I were spending 3 days at this Country Music festival, we arrived and were checked in immediately and efficiently. There were lots of staff on hand and all very friendly throughout the weekend. I had brought an ice pack for a bad back which needed to be kept in a freezer and they happily dealt with that...

I've always gone by the above statement and it's never let me down. We're at the o2 for a 3 day festival so my criteria is close enough to walk, public transport access, clean, reasonably priced, shops and restaurants close by and comfortable. The ibis ticks all the boxes perfectly but always remember that this is a BUDGET hotel. No...

Staying in Greenwich lets you do all the best things about London without being crushed by thousands of tourists. You can sit by the river, lounge around in cafes or restaurants or look at the stunning architecture. The walk up to the observatory is a must do - and the views across London are incredible. This is my 3rd stay...

Staying in Greenwich

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
