Location is really ok, near to underground station, full of pubs and restaurants, rooms quite small for 4 persons, anyway very clean and fully equiped. We had a pleasant stay at base2stay.

Really enjoyed a wonderful stay here thanks to the friendly and helpful staff. It was my second time in London this time with my family. I don't really know my way around and I really appreciated all the helpful tips on where to go. Definitely recommend it for family trips due to the great location and proximity to the all...

A great place to stay in London. We have stayed there many times (5 or 6) in the last 6 years as a couple and now as a family. I will always go back. It does not have that nasty hotel-y feeling, privacy is respected and service is always super friendly. The location is excellent. We love it!

My family and I stayed here on a recent trip to London. We all agreed it lived up to its name. You are about 3 minutes walk to the Earl's Court tube stop as well as numerous pubs, restaurants and conveniences. It is also within walking distance of Kensington Palace, Harrods and Hyde park. That walk, too, needs to be...

Dear lsquared79, thank you so much for your lovely comments on your recent stay with us. We are very glad you had an enjoyable stay and were happy with the standards and services we offered, I am sorry to hear that you found our showers awkward, they are indeed quite powerful, but our shower doors should offer protection from any...

Our holiday began in London at this hotel and glad to say it was a good start to our trip. We had the Bijou double room which was quite a tiny room with little space to walk around but that was pretty much expected. The bed was clean and comfy and there was a mini kitchen complete with a microwave,...

The size of their standard single room - & bed & wardrobe - is absurd, not even big enough to swing a kitten. Basement was a 'bonus', felt like in an open grave. Walls thin as paper. You so do not get what you pay for. Avoid, I will from now on.

Dear hadewe129, thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear your negative feedback on our hotel. We have many different room categories at base2stay starting from our single rooms up to our deluxe rooms, which are more than large enough to swing several cats!. As you were made aware when our team spoke to you on your arrival,...

Families are welcome at this small hotel, just one block from the Earl's Court tube station. Rooms are sparse but functional. The best feature is a small kitchen with a fridge and a tea kettle. Just down the street is a Marks & Spencer to get a quick meal. Hotel is a short walk to museums and shopping.

Base2Stay remains a good value for central London, but it seems to be slipping a little. (See my July 2011 review for comparison). I stayed in room 103, a single: avoid it. I'm 1m87 and the bed was far too short. The main area of the room is roughly 1m x 5m, but it has a fine bathroom. The little...

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights. Staff were very efficient and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice and close to the underground, shops and restaurants. If you have a problem at all while staying here, just ask the staff and they will help you. They are very Accommodating.

We stayed at Base2stay and would recommend it highly as a central location. The staff were very helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble, including upgrading us to a larger room after check in for ''more space'. Our family of three was accommodated in the sleeps 3-4 room which I would recommend. The. Bathroom was large enough, although...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
