This was my second stay at base2stay, the previous being a year ago. I was there during the Olympics, so it was a busy time. Although I enjoyed it the first time, this time was a lot more enjoyable. The staff are well trained, extremely helpful and always willing to assist. The rooms are clean, well kept and still new....

Got the chance to stay at the amazing base2stay hotel in July 2012 during my trip to London. Definitely enhanced my already awesome trip to London...a great choice for all travelers! Price/booking – Was definitely a bit on the pricey side, but that’s to be expected during the peak travel season especially with the Olympics right around the corner (stayed...

If, like me, you've stayed in the "cheaper", central London hotels, you'll know what a rip-off most of them are - noisy rooms the size of postage stamps, steep, narrow staircases, no-one that will even offer to help with your bags and "breakfasts" that are little short of a culinary insult. Book in at base2stay and leave all that behind....

I stayed at Base2stay Kensington for two nights during the Olympics with family members and was impressed by the charming, attentive staff and the thoughtfully designed rooms which feature kitchenettes. The hotel is simple and elegant with a fantastic location on the Piccadilly line convenient for travelling to central London and Heathrow. This is the second time I have stayed...

Stayed for one night, breaking up a long flight back on the last night of our honeymoon. Its a very clever set up, smart looking hotel and rooms, making great use of space. Its 1 minute from Earls court tube so about 10 minute tube ride (5 or 6 stops) from the centre of london. And about 35 minutes from...

Very comfortable and cozy hotel. My first room was not quiet - somebody started to build something right behing the window, and I asked to move to quiet room. The next room was very good - quiet and clean. Very good location - about 3 minutes walk to the Tube station. There are many foodstores, bars, cafes, restaurants around. Staff...

Great location. Rooms are fairly small but who goes to London to stay in their room? They are well appointed with a small kitchenette and a good sized bathroom. Beds are very comfortable. Very clean. Free wifi. Close to shops, pubs. laundromat, pharmacy etc. Well below the price I would have expected to pay for this standard. Would recommend without...

Stayed for one night at the Base2Stay in Kensington. Just a short walk from the Earls Court station. Got upgraded from the smallest size room to the next level up - it was a good size. My smartphone was on the fritz, so didn't get a chance to check out the wifi, but I was able to get on the...

I was on a business trip linked to London 2012 and found base2stay a great option to a more traditional style hotel. Good value, clean, comfortable and very functional rooms( loved the shower). No breakfast but not a problem as there are tons of places within a short walking distance in the vicinity of Earls court tube. Helpful staff with some...

Let’s stipulate that London is expensive (I know, I know kind of a death grip on the obvious). Nonetheless, Base2Stay provides some welcome relief. It’s clean, well located (on the outside perimeter of Zone 1, Earl’s Court, which may save a bit with your Oyster Card), remarkable efficient and reasonably priced. The hotel is aptly named as it performs very...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
