Huge ceilings, four post beds and juliette balconies. The hotel is oozing character and has a charming homely yet royal feel to it.

The room was tidy, clean and well made upon our arrival. A chest full of tea and coffee was available in the room and there is a huge and spacious bathroom attached to the room. The pictures on the website are accurate to room 16 which we stayed in (junior suite).

As a muslim I was happy the fridge provided in the hotel was free of any alcohol and left empty for us to use as we wished.

Upon arrival Ali provided a fantastic welcome explaining the hotels history and reassuring us if we need anything at all we can call reception, As a first point of reception Ali provided a great welcome.

The hotel grounds are beautiful with trees and lanterns lining the front of property.

parking is simple either book onsite parking for £20 for 24 hours or park outside on a near by road free on weekends and available to booking the hour via Ringo during working hours.

One small gripe with the hotel is the heating, I beleieve our room was having issues with air con and it was baking overnight to the extent our sleep was disrupted we needed to eventually open the balcony doors fully just to cool it. The staff were notified upon leaving and I do believe it's going to be looked into.

Staying for 3 nights in room 3; ground floor and close to reception; no noise issues. in need of updating, the photographs are certainly old ones when the hotel was at its prime.
able to drop the bags off until the room was ready.
bathroom, good size and clean, towels, toiletries and toilet rolls, plenty of hot water and good water pressure; taps took a little getting used to. plug missing initially, sorted on request.
bed was a double, clean and comfortable
room well lit, small wardrobe space, tea, coffee and kettle
a bit more detail to cleaning required especially to the radiator and the window sill; slight musty smell.
air conditioning worked well
crack in the window which was secured with tape; they are starting to upgrade the hotel
breakfast was self service on plastic plates; toast, butter and jam, orange juice, fruit, ge teas and coffee from the van on the doorstep; free at breakfast time when staying at the hotel; we sat outside with our breakfast as the weather was good and it was enough to see us through to lunchtime.
we negotiated the rate prior to booking and paid £70.00 per night, wouldn't have been happy to pay any more than this until the refurb is completed.
good location, close to the tube and Little Venice
couldn't get wi fi
tv in the room with limited programmes; Ok for an hour of TV in an evening and the news in the morning
found all the staff friendly and helpful

I stayed here as a keyworker during the 1st lockdown. The hotel is located in a residential area within a short walk (5-10mins) to the underground.The reception was just a chunky desk where the friendly receptionist sat. After taking copies of my keyworker letter and photo ID, they gave me a free upgrade to a 4-poster bedroom for being a keyworker. To the left of the reception desk was a homely lounge with plenty of seating, tables and the busy décor looked Victorian. There was even an armoured statue that looked regal.
The room was on the 2nd floor and as I couldn't see a lift I walked up the old staircase and across the wiring and dust sheets as I think there was some work being done. As you walk into the room, there was a full length mirror and then a short walkway reveals the full, dark, Victorian looking bedroom with dark mahogany furniture but most striking was the 4-poster bed that was draped at all 4 corners and at the roof with edging pleats. There was also a wardrobe with an iron & ironing board, a safe and a 3 drawer chest within it, a flat screen TV ontop of another 3 drawer chest, a couple of armchairs with a table, bedside tables with a drawer and cupboard space, a desk with chair and a single drawer containing local information, a fridge, a wall mounted face mirror and wall mounted lamps. There was a kettle and a box that only had tea bags and sugar but no milk or coffee. The tea bags looked old and not in packaging so I didn't use any.
The bathroom was a bit dated and had a bath with the shower incorporated in it, a single sink and a large face mirror. No toiletries. The window was well draped and reveals the view of the residential area and the front of the hotel where ornate iron chairs and tables lined the circular garden.

If Mary and Joseph had booked a room at this hotel they would have asked to stay in the stable as it would probably be cleaner, our trip was a shocking experience which was disappointing as we have stayed in this hotel before without issue.

For me it’s difficult to put my finger on what was the worst aspect of our stay, was it, its dirty and hairy ( the curly ones ) bathroom floors, left over detritus from the previous occupant ( see picture), mouldy showers, or the fact the hotel had no clean towels so offered a bathrobe as a replacement instead ( admittedly inventive) that said, on further requesting towels on return to the hotel at 11pm they were provided, however we were not brave enough to use them as it would involve showering in the equivalent of a giant experimental Petri dish.
Or perhaps it was not having our own room key and the porter had to let us in as the lock was broken. In fairness they were not expecting to put us in that room but did after we complained about the state of the first room.
The dirty pillow case reported ( see picture) and still in the room on our return after an evening out with no replacement was a special moment, after seeing that and reading the latest reviews about linen not being changed, we decided not to sleep inside the bed.

The staff fall into two camps, those who seemed clinically depressed and resigned to working their way though the hoteliers equivalent of Dante’s Divine Comedy or the sociopathic, with little understanding just how bad this hotel is and how it’s inappropriate to joke about not being able to guarantee a room two and a half hours after it should be available. ( then again maybe it was an attempt to save us from what was to come)
The official pictures from the hotel are the equivalent of the post cards you see in some London phone boxes, Promise much, but the reality is somewhat different, or so I am led to believe by friends more worldly than myself.
On the plus side, no bed bugs and it’s in a great location, could be a great hotel after an industrial deep clean, a lick of paint and employing a housekeeper whose prior work experience was not in a Soviet gulag.

The Colonnade Hotel, Warrington Crescent, London W9 1ER
I have never felt compelled to write a review on Trip Advisor. We are a very well travelled couple and like to give the benefit of the doubt to everyone we meet wherever we stay.
On Monday 10th August my wife emailed the hotel our concerns:
We stayed at the Colonnade London on Friday night (7th August) and would like to draw your attention to the following issues:
There were no drinking glasses in our room
There was only one cup, even though we had booked for 2 people
No teaspoon
No shower mat or shower gel
No bin in which to place tea-making waste
One of the small milk cartons had soured and had to be thrown away
The room had a musty smell, and we found a single dirty sock in a drawer

We have stayed at the hotel previously (our son lives nearby) and had enjoyable stays, but feel it appropriate to inform you that our room wasn’t up to the usual standard this time.

We checked in after 7PM, and the male receptionist was pleasant and helpful. We were due to meet our son shortly after, so just dropped our bags and left. The lack of drinking glasses was only discovered on our return, around midnight. The other
faults were discovered the following morning. We booked through, who informed us of a room upgrade to a balcony room. On our arrival we were offered a choice of 2 rooms of a similar standard, neither of which had a balcony. We did not mention these issues to the receptionist on checking out as we were hurriedly leaving for a wedding-planning meeting with our son and his fiancée. We have returned home now and have time to report these issues.

Our previous stays at the Colonnade have been faultless, and so we feel it is important to make you aware of these shortcomings.

On Saturday 15th August I hand delivered a letter containing the email to the front desk, no response, I telephoned on Weds 2nd September and Wednesday 23rd September asking for a written response to the email. We did receive an email from Sara the receptionist on Wednesday 23rd September:

Hi Paul, I know you are probably very busy but could you please prioritize the email below and respond to our guest by Friday the latest. I spoke to Mr Thomas this morning and assured him you will get back to him by then. Should you prefer to contact him by phone please call 01685........

Sadly there has still been no response. A two line apology would suffice. We tolerate incompetence, inefficiency and ineptitude rather well but feel that the lack of a simple response to our email treats us with contempt. I would urge any potential guests to consider not staying at the Colonnade because Paul, the man at the top of a rather pleasant staff pyramid, refuses to accept any accountability and does not have the common decency to make a polite reply to a polite email.

When we arrived at the hotel, I was really pleased as we where able to check in early, at around 1.45pm. On arrival we where not told any information as to what time breakfast is, where breakfast is or any further information on our stay. We where taken to our rooms by the cleaner, she was polite and friendly. The room was small, with not much room to move, it was quite shabby, with broken lamp shades and stains all over the dated arm chairs. There was a hideous green throw on the end of the bed which we removed straight away as it did not look clean at all. The bathroom was lovely, modern and spacious which we where glad about. As we unpacked and settled in we realized we had no hand soap or toilet roll, so I went to reception and asked for some, I was given it straight away. Whilst I was there I asked about Breakfast, as we where staying for four nights and had paid quite abit of money for the breakfast at the hotel. I was told Breakfast is in the reception area starting at 7am. The reception consisted of two sofas and two arm chairs and a very small coffee table, I was confused as to how we could eat Breakfast here?! In the morning, we headed to the reception area, where there was a Toaster, a bowl of fruit and a bottle of orange juice.. This is not what we had expected at all so we ended up eating out every morning.. The hotel is in quite a good location as it is only a few stops on the Tube away from the main Streets of London and the tube stop is only across the road. We didn't see many other people staying at this hotel while we was there, and the reception area was always empty, otherwise we would of complained about the breakfast. There is a lovely coffee stand outside the hotel which I would definitely Recommend. We wasn't provided with the WIFI password or details so we used alot of our Data while at the hotel. The bed in the room consisted of two beds pushed together which isn't ideal, it was fairly comfy though other than the gap between the middle. It is quite a quiet area, so no noise throughout the night.

From the moment we arrived at the Colonnade Hotel, it was clear that things were less than perfect. The person on the desk was unable to find our reservation details. They disappeared and then returned 10 minutes later and explained that they had found it but had it listed under my first name not my family name but no apology. Whilst i was waiting a disgruntled guest asked why his room had not been cleaned and the clerk made up an excuse. Alarm bells were starting to ring when my husband used the guest toilet and told me that there were tiles hanging off the wall and the carpets were ripped.
When we eventually checked in, we were told that we could not have a key to the room because the card system was not working, so the concierge would have to accompany us to our room every time we needed to get in (with a master key)

The lift was a service lift with very stiff metal grids that looked like something from the 1800s
The room was filthy. The bathroom was freezing cold. The radiator did not work. There was no hot water in the shower. The shower hose was damaged and leaking. There were numerous broken items: the radiator cap had snapped off and was lying on the floor, there was a tall mirror propped up against the wall (unattached)
The air conditioning unit had no cover on the front of it.

BBC Watchdog are looking into this Hotel after I contacted them so feel free to do the same. My main concern is health & safety, especially and false advertising. What’s on lovely website is not what you get.

Appears from recent reviews that the same old keycard issue is still happening, rooms not ready, dodgy lift to second floor only, menu still limited for whatever reason, mould in shower, limited fire extinguishers, wires everywhere, room outside room 21 falling down, limited breakfast, no tea, coffee or towels, free upgrades to a room just as bad. My own beer fridge has more alcohol in it than the bar. No refund if you complain. Definitely a trend here.

Most visitors will be short stays and they are still getting away with taking money (upfront) as people arriving late have no option but to stay and hope the issues get resolved the next day. I walked out after being shown 3 rooms and had to pay £1000 for another 3 night stay at another Hotel. Was told Manager would contact me to sort out a refund. Still waiting on the MD of Topshams Hotel (who own Colonnade) contacting me. Sham it definitely is.

But, I have contacted London citizens advice who adviced I was entitled to “exercise my rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This act states that services should be provided with reasonable care and skill, what this means is that it is reasonable to expect the trader in this profession to be competent within their line of work, or sufficiently knowledgeable in the service they provide.”

Definitely with the list of complaints regarding the Colonnade definitely fits. A letter stating why the services breached this Act maybe?

Just don’t go. Book somewhere else. The only thing this hotel can guarantee is massive disappointment. Agree with another reviewer. Never a 4*

I was booked in to stay at this hotel last Tuesday, I had email confirmation and had rung during the day to confirm. Yet when I went to check in at 9:30pm they had “lost” my reservation!! Like the review below ... I was offered a room in an apartment next door .... I was shown to a room with no lock on the door & no duvet or sheets to sleep under. I was given no keys to the apartment & was told another couple would be sharing the apartment. It felt unsafe, dirty & completely unsuitable so I asked for a refund & left the hotel to sleep on a friends floor!! Despite contacting the hotel repeatedly over the past week they have ignored all requests for a refund!!

DO NOT STAY HERE. The first room we were given here had the windows to the balcony wide open (after 21;00 hours on a cold December evening). We closed the windows and put the air con up high and when it was warm enough we went to sleep. But woke up to the most horrendous smell of stale nicotene. The room had a 4 poster with thick drapes and curtains, and even the towels stank of it. This was the worst room I have ever slept in. After complaining we were upgraaded to the JFK suite. Comfortable, clean and no nicotene, but clearly hadn’t been upgraded since JFK stayed there if he did. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

Worst Hotel i had ever seen, i checked out within 4 hrs after chekin, smelly , and horrible hotel, during lunch time they do not have chef ..... sounds funny, ............ I requested refund but never get,. They straightway denied ......... any way i forget as i do not want to spoil my holidays due to these guys so i checked in near by HILTON and continued by holidays. But please do not recommend or stay in colonnade.
