I stayed here in February of 2015 as we had a bad experience with another hotel. We booked a room here last minute and boy oh boy am I glad we did! Not only did they fit us in without problem, last minute on a Saturday night, but they also upgraded us to a premiere suite as the guests had...

. Dear Charley P Thank you very much for staying with us and for sharing such wonderful feedback. I am delighted that you chose The Portobello and to learn that you found the staff and the service helpful. It’s very thoughtful of you to mention the knowledge of the team, our breakfast and our array of snacks - your compliments...

This is a quirky, charming hotel . It is infused with character and we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Lovely personal touches too....chocolates laid on pillows plus a surprise departure gift. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for valentine's night and it was just perfect! The reception staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Our room was very large with a lovely sofa in it and a glorious selection of teas and coffees. In the morning we were served breakfast in bed which was great. Cannot recommend this place enough...

Cosy and quirky with great service and perfect breakfast in an amazing neighborhood - just off Portobello Road and the chic but not stuffy Westbourne grove. It's the kind of hotel you would want to share with someone but you never feel lonely if you don't. Can't wait to come back here.

I stayed here for one night during a long layover in London and loved every minute of it. I emailed in advance that my flight was getting in well before check-in. I expected to leave my bags there while I killed some time before check in, but when I arrived, they had my room ready. After traveling for 20+ hours,...

The hotel is a charming but very very small and has an array of corridors and doors that are all very narrow and make you feel like staying at the hobbit's place. Even the larger rooms are small not to mention the bathroom; where one cannot use the sink and toilet or shower at the same time. (My cat's box...

Staying at this hotel is without a doubt a change from the general hotel experience. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, evidently with great care. Although the bathroom is indeed small, I found it did not bother me as much as I thought it would (probably because the rest of the stay was great in every way). The bed...

The Portobello is a small boutique hotel, perfect for a romantic getaway. We got room 16 which was really lovely. Lots of space, great garden view and amazing four poster bed. The bathroom is tiny, really tiny. But there's a wonderful tub outside of it. The breakfast's croissants are delicious and service is very attentive. Lots of nice restaurants very...

Have stayed here regularly and it's lovely. Someone else described it as a kooky aunt's house and that is spot on. Definitely not your average hotel experience but all the better for that. Manager David and Gloria on the desk are so welcoming, always feels like coming home!

I stayed at this cute little boutique for 2 nights with my brother in early December, 2014. It was like staying in a cooky aunt's house, in a good way! The layout of the rooms and furniture was very unique and funky. Beds could have been a touch more comfortable, but the rest of the room was amazing. The reception...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
