My partner and I stayed for nearly 4 weeks in London and we loved our stay. You are in the heart of the City of London but it is still quiet and a peaceful place to be. You're between Bank and St Pauls and near the Thames, so very central. Bow Lane is so nice to be in as well...

Our family Loved staying at Calico House. We've visited twice. The kids were on first name terms with the concierge, with lots of mutual teasing about favourite football (soccer) teams. The apartments were comfortable and we loved having the kitchen for those evenings we just wanted to throw together a pasta rather than go out for dinner. Just a wonderful...

Great apartment with everything you need, even a hamper of essentials: coffee, tea, milk, bread etc. Much nicer than many pricier hotels, the staff are friendly and helpful, showing us the location of the switch for the heated towel rail, would ever have found it on our own. Fantastic location on a small lane in The City - very quiet...

Stayed at the Calico House (Serviced Apartments) and by any means and measure, this is one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure of staying. Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.

“We had two different rooms at different times. One was on the third floor facing Watling Street and one was one the first floor facing Bow Lane. Although there was a large crowd outside the Old Watling Pub in the early evenings, the double glazed windows meant that both rooms were extremely quiet. Some apartments have a slightly smaller living room than others but all are very stylish.”
