This was a very excellent first experience staying with Citadines Aparthotels, and I look forward to staying with Citadines in the future. I will definitely stay @ Citadines Islington the next time I travel to the Islington area and recommend it to everyone as well. First of all, Islington had a very limited number of hotels when I was looking for the things I preferred (self-serve laundry, wifi). Also, I prefer boutique & smaller hotels over large major hotels. There are not a lot of choices of hotels in this area, and less competition, so the relative prices are higher for the same nights compared to some other parts that are more tourist oriented (I was looking at similar aparthotels on similar dates in Paddington area for 20-30% less). But Islington is a lovely, walkable, charming area, and I wish I could have stayed an entire month instead of just a long weekend. The hotel is in the renovated Islington Square development, formerly a post office sorting building, and now very trendy with cute shops, medispas, and lively restaurants. Over the weekend there was a food festival that looked well-organized though under attended due to the weather. The hotel is set back from the main road so the rooms are quieter. I arrived about an hour early for my check in and the staff was able to check me in early. They upgraded me without asking from a studio to a studio deluxe room. I have no status, so they did this out of the kindness of their hearts and clearly they could tell that I would be a future loyal customer and worth lots of future business. Good ESP training! On check out I requested a later check out which they were able to accommodate (1pm) without additional charge, they did ask me to confirm the morning of check-out. Every time I left and returned the staff greeted me with a friendly smile and were uniformly professional in appearance and demeanor. The suite was attractively decorated and very clean and I was extremely satisfied all around. The lobby area has a large seating area with coffee and tea available all day (breakfast ~10 pounds). The rooms also have coffee machines and a few snacks available. The laundry machines automatically include detergent so you don't need to bring any (I didn't use them but they told us this). The hotel is very secure with the hallway to the rooms, the elevators, and each floor secured by keycard (meaning you have to scan your card 3 times to get from the lobby to your room). The air conditioning doesn't work when the windows are open, nice for eco-friendly planning. The lights are well-laid and efficient with several different zones within the room. The bedside electrical also has built-in USB-A for electronics. I was in floor 1 (2nd story) very near the elevator and the wifi was stable and strong the entire time (this is very crucial for me). I did not try the wifi from other parts of the hotel, so cannot comment on that. I did notice that even though the building is old that since it's set back from the road it was very quiet even on the weekend evening when people are out drinking. There are quite a few pubs on the main road that looked quite fun but the area is mostly residential and not rowdy.

We really enjoyed our time at Citadines Islington - we stayed for a couple of nights in a super comfortable and spacious Studio Deluxe room which was airy, very well equipped and nicely decorated with themes reflecting the original Post Office sorting centre use. Its location was excellent for enjoying Islington and the very buzzy vibrant area with a huge range of restaurants and places of interest. All of the staff at Citadines Islington we spoke to were friendly, polite, and helpful - from the cleaning team, pantry and front of house staff. So if you are looking to stay in a unique and different type of place - a former sorting office! - then we recommend Citadines Islington. Thankyou again for our stay.

Stayed at this hotel for about 10 days on a non-cancelable rate. Cost was fair & reasonable in comparison to other hotels. The room was good because it had a separate bedroom kitchen, lounge and bathroom with a small entrance foyer. The rooms could all be closed off with doors from the other rooms except the kitchen which was combined with the lounge. The hotel can be a little hard to find for taxis and delivery as it is located in a side street but the location is actually very convenient as it has access through several arcades to a main road that has lots of bus stops and there are 2 tube stations that are within a 10 minute walk in different directions giving more options for direct services. The hotel has a welcoming lobby and lounge chairs and tables for people to sit and work or chat at. There is a coffee machine in the lobby and you can help yourself to tea, coffee and hot chocolate 24/7. My apartment also included a washing machine/dryer which was very convenient. Staff at the hotel were great and thank you to Chris who assisted us greatly when we wanted to break up our booking for a side trip to Paris. Thank you Chris for your friendly and helpful service. I was very happy with our room as I know many hotel rooms in London are quite small whereas we had plenty of room. Location and transport was very good and was only one tube stop away from Kings Cross/St Pancras Stations. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the one bedroom apartment if it is within your budget. Points can also be earned for stays through the Ascott ASR program. There are many, many restaurants in the arcades and area, also supermarkets .

Terrific location, close to The Angel Underground, with good bus service on Upper Street, and not far from Kings Cross/St Pancras for major train connections. We stayed in a Studio Deluxe room which was just great, with a little kitchen for snacks when we didn't feel like going out, or getting up early. The service was great, and the price very reasonable. The Angel area is full of boutique shops and great restaurants and pubs, all in walking distance. Unconditional recommendation.

Citadines is basically a hipster Holiday Inn at double the price. The room was fine and had a little kitchenette. It was clean and modern and soulless. The breakfast for 25$ per person was pathetic. The ladies who stocked it were helpful and nice but the selection was poor. BUT a good quality auto coffee machine was available 24/7 which was great. Laundry in the basement was also convenient about 12$ per for a small load. We liked the location as well. Would we stay again, yes if there was no option. The front desk people were very cold just like the hotel.

Incredibly quiet location, tasteful large rooms with high ceilings, well equiped kitchenette. Perfect for a few days in the bustling city ! Cannot comment on the breakfast as we made good use of the kitchenette facilities. Be aware that the rooms are made up only every 5 days, rubbish is collected daily though if put outside.

My husband and I were very happy with our 5 night stay at Citadines Islington. Our room was spotlessly clean, quiet, and very well appointed in terms of layout, the comfort and quality of the bedding, and furnishings for the kitchenette. The facility itself was very well appointed from the spacious lounge area with complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a small bar to the well equipped exercise room and convenient laundry room. The location is superb, hidden in a quiet square yet just steps from all that the Islington neighborhood has to offer from restaurants to shopping to easy public transit connections. The hotel staff was uniformly friendly, welcoming, and helpful in response to our requests for suggestions about the neighborhood.

Check-in: Uncomplicated, and pleasant, with Peter explaining facilities available. Room: Wow. Large, spacious (by London standards), clean, and clean modern decor. Small functional kitchenette with microwave, hob, fridge and dishwasher. Nespresso machine, tea, cookies, UHT milk provided. Bathroom equally spacious, with adjustable height shower (no rainfall shower, if that matters to you). Small settee at the end of the bed to stretch out and relax. Chromecast TV allows you to project your device to the TV, if necessary. Comfortable bed, with reading lights and USB charging sockets next to the bedside. Small table with chairs, for a quick bite to eat, but perhaps not so good for laptop/work related activities. Room relatively quiet, very little noise intrusion from outside, occasional noise from corridor, but all in all, pretty quiet. Facilities: Breakfast (7-11 am weekdays) served at lobby lounge. Continental and simple; best to inspect prior to purchase to decide value for money. Lounge was clean and open to guests, with 24/7 coffee/tea available. Staff: Friendly throughout. Room wasn't serviced for 2 night stay, but that was OK with me. Location: A little bit of a walk from Underground or Overground station (15 mins brisk walk), but buses available. Lots to eat in the vicinity, looks like quite a thriving and mid-scale neighborhood. 10 mins brisk walk to the British Design Centre. (Minor) Grouses: No shower gel provided (but shampoo, tiny bar of soap and body lotion). More eco approach would be to provide dispensers for the above, rather than single use plastics. Detergent and sponge provided for kitchenette, but no dishcloth or disposable wipe (paper towels provided, though!) Summary: Modern, spacious, comfortable. Would stay again, in a shot!

We enjoyed our stay at Citadines Islington. It was clean, beds were very comfortable, two teens slept on sofa bed and were happy to see it's 2 single beds that fold out so they didn't have to technically share the bed. We also got an extra bed that was placed next to the sofa. There was a washer/dryer combo unit in the apartment and though it was nice to have, it took 2 hr 30 min for ONE small cycle and the dryer didn't get clothes dry, still damp. But it was free so, can't really complain too much. I liked having coffee in the morning with the machine downstairs and the kids enjoyed hot chocolate from the machine, as well. Towels could be changed by just dropping the old towels at your door and would have to pick up a new towel at the front desk. We were there 6 days and no cleaning at all which was stated , would clean after the 6th day, if you stay longer. Though when I first checked in the receptionist told me I would have a room clean on day 4 which never happened. Later confirmed with another receptionist that they don't clean till after day 6 but we left so never had that room clean.
The only negative was there was a sewer like smell coming from the bathroom which was unpleasant when we would come back at the end of a day. I bought Febreeze and a bleach bathroom spray at the local grocery store, and used it daily to hopefully cut down on the rancid smell which helped slightly.
The location is wonderful. So many places to eat and shop nearby and very close to the tube. I used apple maps and it made it look like the walk was 15 minutes but I think really it was 5 or so to the tube and there was much to see on the walk so made time pass by quickly. It was close to Kings cross so if you had to taxi/uber with your bags, it wasn't too expensive (15 or less pounds) which we did to catch the Eurostar to Paris at the end of our 6 days in London.
Overall a good stay for this family of 5.

Dear SeaMama21, Thank you so much for your stay at Citadines Islington, London. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and stay with us. It is very encouraging for us to know that you had several delightful moments during your stay and, most importantly, that you felt at home-away-from-home! We are happy to have met your expectations in service and quality standards. Receiving such positive feedback from our residents motivates us to further improve our commitment to delivering good service. We are so happy that you enjoyed the apartment for yourself and two teens who slept comfortably. For the washer/dryer in the room, we will take a look at this to resolve, though for future, we would be happy to provide the dryers on the 1st floor. I do apologise for the miscommunication with the cleaning, it is indeed after the 6th day that we do service the apartments. We do provide additional cleaning of the apartments at an additional charge if our guests do wish to have this service, though we do provide additional towels and amenities if requested through our 24 hour reception team. I do apologise for the smell in the bathroom, we have looked into this as well. Thank you so much for the feedback and comments provided, we look forward to welcoming you and your family back to Citadines Islington, or to any of our serviced residences. This property is well located if you want to enjoy London by foot, tubes and bus. Ample public transportation available within a few minutes walking.
We stayed in a studio with a kitchenette and used the kitchen every day preparing breakfasts to save money on meals. Two grocers within walking distance gave us plenty of choices to eat in twice for dinner.
