It would rate a two star, that's for sure. We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and even the breakfasts in the very small breakfast room a number of floors down. They accommodated our early arrival schedule somewhat by letting us put our bags in the front entrance. Very outdated plumbing and bathroom facilities in our very small room needed...

I chose this hotel for its location, and thats certainly all you're paying for! I know staying in a B&B style hotel differs from a chain hotel but this was simply not good at all. From pictures i had assumed this would be a cosy, dated style of accommodation, perhaps a little shabby. But on entering the hotel we were...

We knew that staying in Chelsea would be a bit pricey, we wanted to stay somewhere a bit out of central The hotel is OK it's ideal if you don't want to spend a lot and just want somewhere to sleep, it's tidy and basic, you have to remember when booking it's not going to be a 5 star. The...

I was meant to stay with relatives, but due to circumstances beyond our control we had to scramble to find reasonable accommodation in the Chelsea area. Not easy. The Oakley Hotel had a vacancy for the two nights I needed at less than a days notice. My room was much cozier than anticipated, with double doors out to a little...

The rooms are small and stinky. The breakfast is not good: watery coffee, powder milk, plastic bread, no fruit. The positive thing is that the staff are very nice, and is the cheapest you can find close to Imperial. No wifi in the rooms. OK for one night only accomodation.

Of course it is a cheap hotel for London but you can still provide good service. And this one no. The girls working there were not the most friendly. We were in the highest room so we had to go down the hall to get wifi. When you're on holiday abroad, you can't use your own connection so you need...

Oakley Hotel is one of a kind. Jen and Imogen are lovely hosts; they are friendly and are great at giving tips and tricks for London exploration. The building seems to have been recently refurbished with double-glazed windows providing a great night's sleep! I definitely recommend staying here if you would like to be in the awesome and affluent area...

Had a lovely weekend at the Oakley Hotel! First time in London was made so much easier with lots of help from the ladies who manage the hotel. Imogen and Jen were warm, friendly and only too happy to help with anything I asked. Great location, definitely will be back to stay again. Thanks so much.

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
