I stayed here for one night and it did the job. Comfortable beds, free wifi and a very clean hostel. If you just need somewhere to stay the night as I did it certainly does the job, and I was even able to check out at 5am to catch my train. It's a lovely location very close to Blackfriars Station...

I've stayed at the St Pauls hostel a few times, as it was customary for all those participating in the London Kendo Cup. The location is excellent, you'll find yourself close to pretty much everything and talk about being right smack in the City! Breakfast is definitely nice, but remember, it's not meant to be a chic meal. Don't expect...

Me and my cousin stayed here for 3 nights in December for our visit to London and it was the beginning of our trip. The staff were very helpful and kind and always available. There was a nice common area with convertible chairs and lots of books, pamphlets and a television. It was the only place where the wifi worked,...

Hi Yeomans V, Great review, thank you, the staff, the breakfast, and great point about the WIFI, it does only currently work in the social areas but creates a great atmosphere for meeting fellow guests. St Pauls YHA is about the history and location. Great info for fellow visitors. Regards Steve Roberts Hostel Manager

Great price, security, excellent service, decent breakfast, free wifi across most communal areas and well located as far as tube and bus go. FANTASTIC shower! Icing on the cake would've been a box of tea bags next to the hot water available in the dining area....

Very easy to find and a great price for a central location. Managed to stay on a saturday night for around £20. Bed felt slightly like sleeping in a drawer but still better than a lot of London hotels I have stayed in. I managed to get a bed with plug sockets by it which is great, but most beds...

The YHA St. Paul’s is not only central and convenient for touring but it was extremely affordable. We rented a private room with 4 beds for our family. Given the location, the yha was perfect and we quite enjoyed our stay. Much like roughing it out on a camping trip! The building is wonderful and used to be the St...

Finding a bed in London for 15 pounds is a miracle. Some pluses and minuses, but overall recommended. Pluses: bed was comfortable, each dorm room has its own bath and toilet, lockers are huge, friendly staff, very spacious common areas, drinks available for purchase until midnight, a 10 minute walk to Tate Modern and St Paul's is across the street,...

I travel a lot with 2 children. We all have medical issues. YHA accommodation is fab and staff are so informative. Our stay at St Pauls provided me with the best nights sleep I have ever had in holiday accommodation. The bed was so comfy. As usual the breakfast didn't fail us despite 3 sets of dietary needs. However I...

I came down to London for an evening reunion with university friends. The YHA St Pauls is my place of choice to stay. Superb location, free wifi (that works!) in the dining room, a decent, clean bed in a small dormitory, and really nice, clean shower facilities. And the friendly welcome at Reception counts for a lot too! I bought...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
