We had a stay in London and the travel lodge was idea in location for our trip. The hotel was a very short walk from the underground station and very easy to find. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly both on reception and in the cafe at breakfast. I was extremely surprised how quiet the room was given that...

Very clean, and comfortable, very close to tube line, so also very convenient. Staff very polite, and check in was very quick and easy. Check out was also very easy, as just dropped key card in the slot and left.

Lovely clean venue in a nice location. The venue is situated in a quiet street. However not to far away from the hustle and bustle of city living. There are a handful of nice cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs within a short walking distance from the hotel . The hotel is situated close to Southwark underground station as well as...

This is a great hotel, staff are really friendly, rooms very clean and quiet, we had a view of the Shard. There is a luggage room which means you can go around London without all the baggage. Easy to pick up Jubilee line ( just around the corner), easy to walk to from Waterloo station and get buses over the...

stayed for one night in January, absolutely perfect for a city centre break. Easy access to the river, we had a lovely walk up to the London eye. Not far from the tube station. Lovely beds for three adults, massive floor to ceiling windows

We stayed for 2 nights in a family room (triple) with friends for the weekend. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was great. The Southwark Travelodge is in a great central location. The tube is literally 2 minutes walk away. Only one snag the room does not have a hairdryer.

We've stayed here twice now in two different rooms about 4 weeks apart. Two things make this hotel stand out, the location which is within walking distance of many of Londons tourist attractions and secondly, the staff. In particular we'd like to make special mention of Doris, Sean and Patricia. These people made us feel so welcome when we came...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
