I stayed here grand national weekend and really can't understand the negative reviews. It's a pleasant spot with friendly and helpful staff. I look forward to returning next year. Thanks guys for making our stay such a memorable experience.

Avoid at all costs this is the worst hotel ever. Like being in a third world country no hot water no electricity no flushing toilet no heating no curtains or blinds. Absolutely disgusting staff very unhelpful and basically don't care as long as they have got your money. Was refused a refund telling us they had no money. And we...

From arrival the lady was friendly, keys to the room which was basic which was not a problem and then back out to the football match. On our return the lady had changed and was miserable as sin. We ordered some drinks to take to the room whilst getting ready. From all the pumps nothing was on other than Carling,...

I have raised a dispute with my card company as the manager has taken my money even tho we were told it wouldn't be taken until we had discussed our complaint with her. On three phone calls she pretended she could not here us yet other members of staff answered and heard us no problem. However, without even being rude...

Room 102 - I booked 1 night through Booking.com. The staff are very friendly but this place is really disgusting. The place smells of toilets. The room was dusty and the floor was dirty too. The bathroom was filthy, we had no hot water at all. The bin had somebody else's rubbish in it, lots of mold and cracked tiles...

We'd booked a room at The Pineapple through booking.com before reading any TripAdvisor reviews. Despite the spectacularly poor reviews we thought we'd give it a whirl anyway. On arrival, we were greeted by a pleasant member of staff. We paid in cash up front as the hotel doesn't accept card payments - a useful tip we'd picked up from previous...

A list of things you will need; toilet rolls, towels and definitely definitely antibacterial wipes as the place isn't clean. Cups in the room stained, tea coffee stains and black dust on tray etc. We booked using credit card but still had to pay cash when we got there. It's not very clear on the website that the card is...

Such a friendly hotel, staff were helpful and friendly, locals who drank in the bar were also really friendly. We were made to feel right at home. We even left out bags for a day as our train home wasn't until the evening! Room was basic and shared toilet and shower room - however the rooms and facilities were clean...

On arrival the lady behind the bar was friendly and polite. We paid for our rooms in cash as they did not accept card. We had 2 rooms which were opposite the pubs toilets/fire exit. The fire exit door was left open all night which might of been OK if the plugged in heaters would work. We had no electricity...

Upon arrival, the lady who was working behind the bar was very friendly and asked us for payment upfront but wouldn't allow us to pay on card and asked for cash only. We then went into our room which was directly outside the men's toilets on the bottom floor, the corridor stunk of urine and the fire door down the...

The Pineapple is a 150 year old, family owned, former coaching inn one mile from the City Centre. It is now a B&B with a popular bar but the name and the locals' bar have both remained. We are just 20 minutes from the John Lennon Airport on the way to the City and only 5 minutes from Lime Street Station and all other popular attractions and nightlife.
