We stayed for 2 during the week and were extremely disappointed with the hotel. Our room was small and run down, which was probably reflected in the price charged, but the cleanliness of the hotel was unacceptable. There was dust on most surfaces and large cobwebs hanging from this ceilings, curtains and light fittings ( I felt like Miss Haversham...

We were very kindly put up at Childwall Abbey for 2 nights for my daughters' 'Make a Wish' to visit the Holyoaks cast. This was marred by our poor accommodation. The room was freezing cold, the shower was pathetic with paint peeling off ceiling, bathroom made constant noises when you ran water, flushed toilet, or even enter the room! We...

Not the most well decorated bar I've been in but it's ok. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The lunch menu was good, a decent range to choose from. My fish chips and mushy peas were perfect, the batter on the fish was deep gold and super crispy: exactly as I like it. My friends had chicken burgers and said...

Attended a funeral Wake here recently. Organised at short notice, staff very helpful. 14 meals ordered off main menu delivered almost together, food quality was good and not at an extortionate price. Difficult to highlight any particular meal, but all enjoyed what they had. I had black pudding stack for starter, slices of black pudding with bacon and pepper sauce,...

Been here a few times now with partner and partners family, nice atmosphere, food nice enough for the price and friendly staff. Can get busy especially in the summer months, also rents out room for the night.

Why would anybody want to eat at this joke shop? No answer to that. Inept clowns for staff, zero organisation, and if I was to call the food average I would be being charitable. After nearly an hour of waiting for our meals, they told me they didn't have all the dishes available. I swapped for a different one but...

We go there on a regular basis only because it close to our house and the local wetherspoons is even worse. The manager is useless in my view. Christmas day lunchtime ran out of small bottles of prosecco! in previous months we have waited a long time for food and last week they wouldnt take my wifes food order cos...

Had to attend a Seminar weekend at Liverpool Hope University and needed to find a hotel nearby. Only picked Childwall Abbey Hotel as it had the same postcode as the hotel, so didn't research anything else about it. I didn't realise it was a pub also so was bit surprised when I arrived in the evening from Exeter to find...

Childwall Abbey Hotel is an historic building in a pleasant part of the city. There is free parking and the city centre is about 20 minutes drive away. The room, although on the small side, was clean and comfortable. No noise, despite the busy bar and restaurant area. Good breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Would stay here again if visiting...
