Travellers' Choice
A Grade II* listed building, 30 James Street Hotel – Home of the Titanic is truly one of a kind. One of the closest hotels to Liverpool landmarks, the enchanting, nautical-themed hotel is also built on historic foundations. And we’re proud to have preserved its splendour with a contemporary, stylish finish. Radiating with incomparable charm and character, 30 James Street was formerly known as Albion House. The building once stood as the headquarters of White Star Line, the iconic shipping company and most famously owners of RMS Titanic. With impressively spacious rooms and suites, the luxurious hotel is a favourite for couples in search of a romantic stay, or for larger groups of family and friends. Offering elegant group accommodation, all décor and furnishings are designed to ignite a first-class feel to the room, so you can expect plush, comfortable beds and close attention to detail

My partner and I didn’t stay at the hotel but we did make a reservation for the Carpathia rooftop bar for the last night of our holiday. We were greeted by the lovely bar man Danny who could not have been more attentive, serving us with impressive cocktails, taking our pictures and even telling us the history of the hotel and sharing some ghost stories! He is an asset to the hotel going above and beyond to make your visit very special!!

We booked 30 James Street because the hotel looked a little different to all the others and was in a great location, we stayed in room 23 which was a great room, great views out the front and 2 comfy double beds, we had breakfast included which was on the top floor in a lovely room, breakfast was great, everything available and good quality. It was our anniversary and I had forgotten a card for my wife so at the last minute I asked the hotel to help me out with some flowers, the concierge went and picked up a beautiful bunch of flowers from the florist and made sure they were in the room on the morning of my anniversary, I really could not thank him enough, overall the hotel is an amazing building in a great location, it’s a bit quirky but we liked that, the concierge and restaurant staff were excellent, reception and the night manager very helpful. An amazing building steeped in history and a fantastic city, what more could you ask for! We will definitely be returning.

I visited this hotel last week with my daughter. we booked a cabin room which had 2 x double beds in. Lets start with the positives: All the staff were friendly and trying their best. Location was great as it was a 2 min walk to Liverpool 1 shopping. Now for the negatives. Took 3 trips up to reception to get the room card to work. The room was on the lower ground, that meant it was very dark when leaving the lift. There were automatic light sensors that came on when motion was detected but the light in the corridor once you had gone through the main set of doors, took so long to come on I was nearly at my room before corridor lit up. I rang reception and requested an iron as it was missing from the room. I was told someone would be straight down, after 3 further phone calls to reception chasing the iron, I heard a member of staff call through to reception on their walkie talky that none of the lower ground rooms had an iron in. she promptly disappeared. An hour later, someone turned up with an iron, just as we were leaving to go out to dinner. I had to go out in a creased dress. Now to the room, not a big room as beds were facing each other. There were no bedside lights even though there bedside cabinets. The only lighting was the main light so it had to be on or off. The main light in the bathroom didn't turn off as the light switch had lost its cover so were didn't want to touch it and the light on the bathroom mirror flashed and then stopped working altogether. There was no dressing table/desk in the room and no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, other than the top of the toilet. There was no mirror in the room other than the one in the very dark entrance space where the wardrobe was. Pointless as too dark to be able to use. The kettle on/off switch was broken and the curtains were coming off the curtain track. Don't be fooled by the The Carpathia Champagne Bar, this area is simply a walk through to the restaurant that had a couple of tables in and a bar. Breakfast we were offered 2 for the price of 1 so decided may as well for £16.00. It was standard buffet style, nothing outstanding and as usual not hot enough and not enough staff. Not worth £16.00 each if we had paid full price. Such a list of very small complaints that could easily be rectified. I don't understand why the house keepers don't report the issues when they clean the rooms. I did report all this to reception when I checked out, but this cant have been the only room with faults and it wont be the last. Although location and staff were great, There are plenty of other hotels in the area that I would book next time.

Had the most wonderful time staying here. Beautiful room with jaccuzi bath. Stunning rooftop bar & restraunt with the most amazing & hilarious barman/historian Danny who took the time to give us a history of the building & details of the Titanic disaster which was so interesting. Will absolutely be returning!

Returned home after a one night stay at 30 James street Liverpool. October 16th 2021 After reading some reviews on here I was optimistic with what was to be offered. I've stayed in many hotels in Liverpool and believe this could be the best of all. Arrived at 3pm during a busy wedding gathering at reception. The friendly Toast master in red, quickly seen us and hushed us through and directed us to reception, quick and easy check in and hotel facilities explained we adventures to our room, Our room number was 58 which was on the 6th floor. Room was enormous and immaculately clean, for what we paid was a really good deal. Two large beds and a large open space to entertain our guests who we had arranged to meet at our hotel. A Jacuzzi bath and large bathroom with a kitchen area. After entertaining guests at our room we went into liverpool everyone from our party commented on how fantastic our room was and would be booking James Street from now on. Thinking back now we shouldn't of left the hotel room as our meal at the restaurant down the road was awful. Back to Hotel at 1am, hotel was quiet and a warm welcome back from reception, straight to bed and up for breakfast. Didnt hear any noise throughout the night probably the best sleep I've had in a long time. Dont be put off with comments about lavish parties in this hotel as everyone was respectful and silent. Breakfast was room service everything requested was presented hot food was hot and the coffee was strong. Check out was quick and taxi booked by reception over all a fantastic stay in the heart of Liverpool, will be booking again before Christmas. Roger
